I was wondering how you get from one Disney theme park to another. We are staying on I Drive and so hopefully will get the curtesy bus that stops at the hotel to Disney. Does this bus go to all the different parks or do you have to go to one park and then make your way to another? :confused3 :goodvibes

Hi Cazzie,

Once you are "at Disney" it is very easy to get from one theme park to another by internal Disney transport which includes bus, monorail, boat depending on where you are going from and to.

I've no idea how the bus works from your offsite hotel though, sorry :(

Cheers

Karen

if i were you i would check the availability of your free transport. Some of the hotels only do 1 trip out very early, then pick you up around tea time.So if the times don't suit you then you are stranded. You can always drive to any disney park and then hop around on their free transport all day, then go back to the hotel when you are ready.

Thanks for replying, if the free transport from the hotel is only once in the morning and we miss it then we can get a taxi but I was wondering about getting to the different parks once we are there. I think that with the ultimate ticket the transport between parks is free but not sure on that. Wow the closer this gets the more problems I am thinking about. :teeth: does it take long to get from one park to another?

Most hotel shuttle buses will drop off at the Transportation and Ticket Centre near MK. From there you can get the monorail to MK or Epcot and buses to MGM and AK :)

...and each park will have transportation to every other park :) You should have no problems.

The Disney busses are approx 4 times an hour to the various hotels and parks. We were onsite and used them for everything Disney (except Blizzard Beach). My friend stayed on I-drive last Christmas and used the hotel courtesy bus - but you were expected to tip the driver so it still cost $5 per trip - and they were scheduled to run half-hourly I think. Contact your hotel and check the schedule, then you can plan round it. I know my friend ended up having to race out of MK at the end of a parade in case they missed the last bus of the day

Thanks for you replies, I think it may be a case of seeing what curtesy bus the hotel offers. I am not to worried about getting back as I want to stay and see some of the firework displays etc and also go to downtown Disney so I guess we will have to get a taxi back to the hotel. :sunny:

From my experience the return buses are always packed! The shuttle we used from the Best Western Plaza picked up at TCC and at Epcot for the return journey to the hotel.

Also, where the buses pick up and drop of is just an open crpark with no cover or anywhere to sit.

If you do need a taxi to take you back, you can phone them before and ask them for a price.

We did this on our last trip,DH and my dad were spending the day at kennedy space centre and me and dd's didn't fancy it.The plan was for them to drop us off at mk so we could spend the day their and we would get a taxi back when we had,had enough, from outside mk.

I just called the day before to see how much it would be back and they quoted us £29,they were spot on.though by the time we had got round to our villa it was $30 + i gave a tip.

We had a wonderful day just me and DD'S. :teeth:

Cazzie,
You will probably find that the complimentary transportation will only take you as far as Epcot, as that is the nearest park once you get into DisneyWorld.
That's not a problem if going to other parks :moped: however as you can jump on the monorail directly to the Magic Kingdom (cuts out the Ticket and Transportation Centre)from there or buses to the other parks.
If you are thinking of a taxi home and if you are on a tight budget I would advise you to make your way back to Epcot as it will cost you about $10-$15 more from Magic Kingdom or better still have a night at Downtown Disney which is virtually at the gates of DisneyWorld. From Downtown Disney a taxi to Wet'N'Wild cost approx $20 :cool1: plus tip.

Hi,

We stayed on I Drive in feb and must admit we didn't use the hotel transport at all, on our first day there we went to get a 14 day pass for the trolley bus which stopped outside the hotel every 15-20 mins. The drivers were brilliant and always made sure we knew where to get on and off for where ever we where going, you can also get a pass for the other buses which saves having to have the right change everyday.
Using the public transport there was a piece of cake ( nothing like here - I live in Cornwall !!) it also meant we didn't have to be tied to any times and could come and go as we pleased.
Hope this is of some help, this was our 1st trip and it was FANTASTIC :wave2:

One time when we were staying at maingate the hotels courtesy shuttle just didn't go at the right times so we got to using the local lynx busses, it was only a couple of dollars round trip and they were very frequent, it meant we could stay on at the parks for late shows that we couldn't have seen if we'd used the shuttle

We have stayed on I-Drive twice & used the free buses. It depends which hotel you are at because there seemed to be 3 different routes/schedules. From the Ramada (towards the Turkey Creek end of I Drive) there were several buses in the morning & we were taken to MGM then transferred onto Disney buses. From Howard Johnsons (by Wet & Wild) there was one bus to Epcot at about 9am & just one back at about 5pm.

Thanks so much this info has been great it was just what I wanted. :flower:
I shall definately be getting a couple of trolley passes and bus passes and then we can always get a taxi if we are tired or its a bit late. :earsboy:
