getting a OKW GV

My daughter is getting married at DW next March and we would like to reserve a GV for the group. I have some points in our account but will need more.

What are the odds of getting the GV at this time? And has anyone ever heard of a transaction where I would tranfer my points to the account of the person I buy from, I want a OKW owner so we can book now. Do you think that would work?

When you rent points the method of "payment" is certainly up for discussion. If you could find someone who wanted your points as partial or full payment there is no reason why not as long as you are both eligible for a transfer

Make a ressie for as many nights as you can and rent the other points from another member and link the reservations together.

You can post a "Trade Wanted" thread on the DVC Rent/Trade Board offering to trade your points with someone who owns at OKW - giving you the 11 month reservation priority. "Trade Offered" should also work in this situation.

Another option is to look for an OKW owner offering to transfer their points.

We own at SSR and I would like to book now just so we have the reservation nailed down. I need an OKW owner to sell me points and accept my points as a transfer so we are in the 11 month window.

Waiting til the 7 month window might give me an anxiety attack .

Has anyone here ever stayed at a GV? It looks so awesome online!

You could also use "Trade Offered" where you want to offer your points in exchange for OKW points.

This is the one exception where a "Wanted" thread is allowed.

You might also consider reserving what you need at SSR. There are great GVs at Saratoga! That would at least allow you to have something reserved right at 11 months instead of having the uncertainty of needing to find an OKW owner able to help or wait for the 7 month reservation window.
