Getting a Little Quick On The Thread Closing Trigger!

It just seems that things are getting closed way before necessary. Not every thing will led to nasty. Sometimes it is just in fun. Shouldn't people be allowed to have fun on DIS?

Well, sometimes it is better to close before nastiness begins. If you are talking about same thread I am thinking, this one comment was so off it would bring lots of nastiness. I was about to storm this comment but it was closed before I did. You know some people have problems control their temper and many will set them straight right away, so it is better to close before it will happen.

Also, keep in mind that all the Moderators are volunteers.

Most of us have been around long enough to know if a thread is going to take a path that will lead it to be closed. We don't all have the time to watch the thread while it goes there. If it looks like it's headed that way and I don't have time to sit there and watch it, I will close threads like that before they get too far down the path.

I have noticed it depends a lot on the moderator. There recently was a long thread on the resort board slamming a certain group, and one moderator basically joined in and slammed along. If that had been anyone else, they would have received an infraction.

If it is the thread I am thinking of I guess I can see why if it got nasty. But couldn't we do a thread on what not to expect, or something like that, when traveling to WDW. Some things are just not a given.

Fair enough...however, remember that DISer's should be allowed to enjoy themselves a little and the title of the thread in question stated clearly that it was tongue in cheek. All I saw were comments that had been hot ticket items on here before, therefore I can understand your apprehension, but, that said, it wasn't sighting any specific actual incident and was just being used for fun and continuing on in the spirit of the original post. Can we get along without it, certainly, but it was a funny thread. There aren't many of those on the boards lately. I am not going to pursue it any further, but I just wanted to express my opinion.
