Getting a free pin with $100 gift card

I saw this posted on a blog or similar but don’t think I’ve seen this here yet, so thought I’d share especially since I wish I’d found out about this earlier in my visit!

Basically right now you can purchase a $100 gift card in a special Christmas design. This particular gift card comes with a free pin attached. They come in 4 designs - Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald. I’ve bought a couple from the Emporium on Main Street, but not quite sure where else sells them in the parks.

My current plan for the rest of this visit is to just keep buying these gift cards and then using them for purchases in the parks (food, souvenirs, etc), and get some free pins while doing so!

Also not all CMs seem to know of the existence of this gift card. The first CM I asked in the Emporium directed me to the central cash registers where they are kept, but the CM at the central cash registers hadn’t heard of this! He did ask another CM who found the gift cards though.

The pins just came out on November 20. They are sold in a very limited number of locations, and not all CMs know about them. I usually find them in the holiday shop on Main Street each year, but I don't know if they made it there this year. I bought mine at the Emporium last Wednesday. They also had some at the cash registers at the hat stitching station in the DCA shops on the locker/restrooms side of Buena Vista street (sorry, can't remember the name of the shop right now).

Yeah, the original blog post said "available now" and was dated Nov. 15. I was there on Nov. 19 and asked several CMs and received responses ranging from "oh yeah, I remember those" to "i don't know what you are talking about" to "no, we don't have those" to "we aren't selling those this year". I pulled the blog up again to look at it for some reason on Nov. 21 and saw that the "available now" had changed to "available Nov. 20" and sure enough I found them right away when I went into the park on Nov. 21. I have bought them earlier than that in the past, so they were apparently just delayed this year.
