We have an 11:30 ADR for 4. Will we automatically get a car, or will we need to ask for one? We've never eaten there & I'm looking forward to the experience, including dining in the car. TIA for the info. :)

We ate there last October and when we checked in they had a card with pictures of the tables. They pointed to the car and asked if we wanted the car table or one of the other tables. We requested the car and they warned that it may increase our wait time. We were fine with that. It was the longest we waited for a table but it was still only 15 to 20 minutes.
If they don't ask tell them that you would rather wait for a car and I am sure they will accommodate you. Have fun, we really enjoyed it!

There are only a few seats at the Sci Fi that are not cars. The chances of you getting seated at a table are quite minimal. Every time we've eaten there we've gotten a car, but if we hadn't, we would probably just ask our server if it would be possible to get a car. They should be able to accommodate you!!

When we checked in, they showed us the picture and explained that because we had an ADR we were guaranteed a car. They then asked if we wanted a car--I suppose a few people might prefer the table? Since I'd assume most don't, I think during really busy times they might allow walkups only for the tables, and not for the cars. Bottom line, you shouldn't have any problems getting a car. Have fun!

I had the same concerns during our visit a few weeks ago for]ur party of three. We had a car table & did not have to ask. It was a fun place for us & the food wasn't too bad either.

I've never asked and have always been seated in a car. There aren't many seats other than the cars and they are usually held for parties that can't sit in the cars.

When in doubt, confirm with the hostess when you check in.

If you have a reservation, you will be in a car unless you ask not to be.

Just to forewarn you, most cars seat six so you will probably have a couple of "hitchhikers" in the back seat. Don't worry, you won't have to interact with them at all. And you won't have to wait until you car is completely full to be seated or to order.

Thanks all! :grouphug: We'll be having lunch there Friday. I can't wait! :yay: I'm not too worried about the food. We have a dinner ADR @ HBD, so we won't want to get stuffed at Sci-fi anyway.

I'd prefer the table. The cars are cute but, when our party is more than me & DH, I hate either turning around to talk or looking at the back of my tablemate's heads.

And I think "fluffy" people shouldn't have any trouble fitting in the cars. ;)

We were at a table 2 weeks ago, and after seeing the cars, I was glad, and I will request the tables from now on. Even the tables are in a car like setup, and with small kids the table seems so much more do-able for our family. We loved this restaurant, and the food and service were superb!!

RachelsMom1,
Do you mind sharing what you ordered? We will be there in another week :woohoo: :woohoo: and I"ve heard mixed reviews on food, so if I have some idea of the good things to order, I'll feel better about it. :goodvibes

Thank you!:thumbsup2

I had onion rings appy, and shrimp pasta entree, strawberry shake to drink, and chocolate tart for dessert: Hubby had spinach and artichoke dip appy, and angus chuck burger entree, tea to drink, and cheesecake for dessert: Our Three little princesses each had salad appies, hot dogs and fries for entrees, and sundaes for dessert. They each got shakes also. Just want to add, we were on Bounceback/FD from last year and had upgraded to deluxe dp and it was the best thing we did!! Love the deluxe dp!!

From the pics I've seen the majority of the seating is cars anyway so you'll be fine I'm sure.

Does anyone know how many a car seats?

x
