Getting a boarding group for Remi’s Ratatoullie question

My son is joining us 1/2 way through our Epcot day. His flight gets in at 1 so I’d estimate he would be in the park by 3 or 4. We really want to ride Remy together (for free) but don’t want to be limited to the 1 pm lottery since he wouldn’t physically be in the park by then and all boarding groups would be snatched up by then. If we did the 7 am lottery and were successful and got an early boarding group, would we be able to wait for him to arrive to ride? Could we explain our predicament to a cast member or guest services and be permitted to board a few hours late?

Maybe, maybe not. It's not a great answer, but seeing as the ride hasn't opened yet, no one can speak to how strictly they'll enforce the return times. ROTR was pretty strict at first, I believe, but has loosened up in terms of arriving later.

Not likely. Rotr was strict for a reason. If everyone came when they wanted it could get super busy and people possibly not get on. They plan for a certain volume by hour. So my guess is they won’t allow it.

If it were me I'd try for all at the first drop. The majority (or all) in the park ride when your group is called then son can try when he arrives. I know it's not all together but waiting could mean everyone missing out. I can see them being more lenient letting 1 person ride after their group expired as opposed to an entire group. But again, just my thoughts as we don't really know how it will work since it isn't open yet.

Does the BG procedure for Remy start on 10/1?

Get BGs for all of you at 7 (if you can). If it seems like your son won’t make it in time, explain to a CM that your son’s flight has been delayed and ask if you can all ride later. If told “no” (which would surprise me as the CMs are well aware that the random nature of getting BG times causes lots of problems), then the rest of you should ride at your BG time, and then when your son arrives he can plead his case to the CMs and hopefully be allowed to ride alone using his (late) BG. Good luck!

thank you, this is what I pretty much decided to try. Get the passes at 7, plead my case. Worse case scenario he doesn’t get to ride and we do. But he (20) won’t be as devastated as my 11 yr old if she can’t ride at all

We were at Disneyland last month and for both ROTR and Web Slingers the CMs were happily taking anyone with a BG that had already been called, no matter how late they were (we were several hours late one time and had no problems). Of course this is not guaranteed to apply to Remy at WDW but the worst that can happen is they say “no”.

I had the same experience in Disneyland recently with both BG for ROTR and WEB slingers. But things are more laid back in CA. Wouldn't expect the same on the east coast.
