Getting a Babysitter One Evening?

While our WDW trip is primarily for our DD (or at least it is supposed to be -- I am WAY more excited than she or my DH are) I think it might be kind of nice to go with my DH out to one of the parks for an evening (I was thinking we could go to dinner and staying until park closing -- and ride a few rides that she is either too little or scared of). Just to have a little time for ourselves, just him and I.

Is there any kind of babysitting service we could get to come to our resort room or that we could take her to? Anyone have any experience with this?

I'd appreciate referrals to particular companies, references, cost estimates or whatever else you could give me.

Thanks!:goodvibes

Absolutely! :goodvibes When my older son was little we used Kids Night Out for in room babysitting. After he got older (and potty trained) he really enjoyed spending time at the resorts kid's clubs.

He's been to the Neverland club at the Poly, Cub's Den at WL, and the Sandcastle Club at BC. They get to spend the evening doing kid stuff and they get dinner too. Staff has always been great. I think the kids clubs are a great option as long as your kid(s) are old enough. :thumbsup2

My DD is 5. Is she old enough for these kid's clubs? Also, can we use them if we are not staying at that particular resort? We will be at ASMu.

Oh yeah. I think they reduced the minimum age to 3 (and potty trained.) And anyone can make a reservation, at I believe 180 days out, just like dining. They are at deluxe resorts, so just pick one close to where you'll be. If you want your night out at MK the Neverland Club at the Poly is good. I have not seen the club at the GF, but have heard its on the small side.

If you were planning. On Epcot or DHS, go ahead and book Sandcastle Club at BC.

Yes, you can utilize the Kids Clubs even if you're not staying at that particular resort, but I have a question for you. Do you really want your daughter to be up that late? If you & your DH stay out until 10:00, it could be at least 11 by the time you pick her up and get her back to your home resort. If you utilize Kids Nite Out, your DD could be fast asleep in her bed when you get back from the park and you can stay out as late as you want.

Re: PP comments about being up late, we would typically spring for a cab when picking up our son at a kids club when we were not staying at that particular resort.

Of course, you know your kid best, if she needs to in bed by 8:30 or 9, and you are planning on being out beyond that, maybe an in room sitter would be better. If staying up late on vacation is not a problem for you or her, then the kids clubs are good option. But yeah, skip the bus hassels late at night & just have bell services call you a cab to get back to your resort quicker.
