I have never heard of or seen anything like this at the parks. There are ECV's that are like motorized wheelchair scooters that people use when they have an injury or are sick. Those can be rented within Disney or through an outside source.

As far as the stroller issue goes, the WDW strollers are less like strollers and more like push carts. She could probably easily fit in one of those and it wouldn't really seem like a stroller b/c it doesn't look like one. That is really the only option in my opinion. We bought my 6 year old daughter (when she was still four) a jogger stroller for use ONLY at Disney. She is very in shape and NEVER uses one at home or anywhere else. At Disney she poops out everywhere, even sitting on my dad's shoulders. She just gets so tired, so we save her little legs from trying to keep up by letting her chill in the jogger. She is grateful for it b/c Disney walking is completely different from walking at the mall. This is the last year she will be using it. My niece will use one as well b/c she gets siezures when she is overtired. It is just best to keep her rested.

I am not sure of any other options b/c I have heard that wagons are not allowed at Disney.

You can not use a ECV for a 6 year old. Only someone over 18 can drive them and kids are not allowed to ride on one with an adult. They are 50 dollars a day, plus a 20 dollar refundable deposit. My grandkids 5 and 7 years old used Disney double stroller.

Walking is an option. My 3 kids never used a stroller at Disney and they were 4 1/2 and 5 when we first visited.

Yeah, we plan on walking we are walkers, I just wanted options since they say dw walking is like nothing eles, how much are the strollers?

I think you need to do more research if you thought golf carts were allowed in the parks.

DS5 walked when we went for 9 days last April. Whining is NOT allowed at WDW. If you push a 40-50 lb 6 year old around the parks, YOU will be more tired than she would have been if she'd walked.

No, as a PP said, you cannot ride with your child.

As you can see there are differing opinions on this subject, and that is fine. However, like I said, when it comes to Disney, it is a different world. My daughter passes out at the dinner table with her head in the butter (I have pictures), and pretty much wherever we stop for too long of a time. I would rather have her less tired and able to enjoy more than to have her completely exhausted and miss a lot on the trip. Plus, I refuse to be one of those parents I see on the bus that has carried their child a million miles b/c they passed out, or one of the ones dealing with an overexerted, overstimulated child throwing a fit at the end of a long day. We've never had a Disney meltdown b/c we keep the kids well rested. My daughter is still small (not undersized, just a little girl), and trying to keep up with her older siblings would exhaust anyone's legs. I'd rather her be able to kick back when she needs to and take a nap comfortably, or just be able to rest her legs while we race to the next ride b/c that is what we love. I have been up in the air about taking it, but I would rather take it and have it than leave it at home and have to rent one if I find she is pooping out. After all, it is about her enjoyment. This is a child who has a heavy martial arts training schedule, and is very active, so that is saying something. She has the ability to walk as far as she has to, but why push her too hard if she can rest when she needs it. She trains hard all year, so this is her time to take it easy and enjoy her vacation, just as it is my time to make sure we have fresh, energetic children so I can enjoy my vacation as well. My hubby is a strong guy, and she's not that heavy, plus my stroller corners like a champ! So...you will get strong opinions, but you have to do what works for you, and my back going out from carrying a sleeping child does not work for me. No one has ever judged me at Disney, only on the boards, so don't worry about people giving you the stink eye. I can't help with cost as I bring my own.

As for a picture, I was able to pull them up on Google images pretty easily by typing in "Disney strollers".

daughter had leg problems and we decided to use a stroller when she was six. It seemed better than putting with a kid with sore legs every night. And no she was not a sedentary child. She played rec soccer and swam on a team at that age.

She is about average size or maybe a little larger than average for her age and she fit in the Disney strollers. The strollers are $15/day or $13 if you pay for more than one day. They are available at the entrance of each park. If you pay in one park just show your receipt at the next one to pick up a stroller. (Or if someone accidentally takes your.)

The stroller issue is a hot topic 'round here! I don't really care what people think. They can give me the stink eye all day, but it is not going to change me in any way. I am there to enjoy my trip, and my daughter should too. Your post made me remember something about my childhood. I had a hereditary condition that made my legs hurt terribly if I was very active during the day. I actually still have the same issue, but I've learned to manage it. My daughter doesn't know how to manage it yet, so she will keep going and going till she drops, and then will be in terrible pain. It didn't even dawn on me until I read your post that she could be struggling with the same issue I have. Duh. People won't know it by looking at her though. All of my kids are fit. Two of them are working towards their second black belts in karate and their first in MMA. One will have her first black belt by the time we go in September, one is about a year out from hers, and my little one will have a couple more years till she earns one. My point is, it doesn't matter at Disney how fit people are, their legs are guaranteed to hurt, and they are guaranteed to be more tired than usual. Everytime we go I am glad for having taken the stroller. I am actually sad that we only have one more use in it b/c she will be officially too big next year. That means I have to carry my stuff around the parks, and I hate carrying anything!!! I used to pin money in my pockets at Cedar Point to avoid carrying a purse! We are getting everyone used to it this year by making and embroidering string backpacks and making everyone carry their own sunscreen, first aid kits, lanyards, etc...That way it won't be such a shock when we don't have the stroller anymore. Plus, if she decides she doesn't want to use the stroller on certain days we will be prepared. We shall see what happens!!! I will be prepared either way.
