My friend is insistent upon eating at OHanas this trip even though we had a horrible experience last time(dry meat, hard to get service, salty food, she hated the dessert, etc). I have a feeling that this meal will be no different. We will be miserable, hungry and annoyed that now we have to eat someplace else OOP.
Has anyone had a good experience getting a credit to their DDP because of a bad meal?

Call me crazy, but I'm having a difficult time wrapping my brain around this. Why in the world would you make an ADR for a dinner that you KNOW you will not enjoy?

Why not just go some where else?:confused3

I am confused too. You know you will not like it and are trying to figure out how to get your DDP credit back after you have already eaten? I would say that if your friend is insistent upon going and you don't want to go, don't go. If you feel forced into going, I think that is on you, not Disney.

Exactly this. If you do decide to dine there, you are doing so knowing the possible outcome. Expecting Disney to comp you for a meal that you "know" won't meet your expectations is really asking too much, don't you think? Dine there or don't dine. But do it on your own dime.

There have been reports of people getting comped when using the DDP.

However, I have had a very good meal at Ohana and so have a lot of people. I would suggest that you don't go into the meal "expecting" it to be bad. It will just be a self fulfilling prophecy as you will be looking for anything "wrong". Give the place a chance before condemning it again.

I have eaten there in the distant past and actually enjoyed the food. I am hoping that last time was just a one time occurrence. I forgot to mention on the last visit, We saw our waitstaff try to carry about 20 glasses of drinks out of the serving area, took 5 steps and dropped them all. We never got refills d/t that which I kind of needed d/t the saltiness/dry meat. We kept being offered the shrimp and no ther meat even though we asked the staff.
My friend is quite insistent upon eating here, and all of our dining is booked together. She is a very picky eater and thinks the food is great except for the dessert.
A few vacations ago, I booked San Angel and she kept saying she didn't want spicy food. Asked the waitress which meal was least spicy, and then complained the food was bland:confused3 We wander around every counter service looking at the menus until she finds something she wants, and she does look at the menus online prior to leaving so I don't understand. I already told her that we will more than likely split up for counter meals.
She will be one to complain about the food to the manager, not me. I want to be prepared

I wouldn't even go into this thinking it's a possibility.

Unless the staff notices you aren't eating AT ALL or you complain immediately and leave I think your chances are slim. How are they going to know that you didn't eat a bunch and then just start complaining to get a comp?

If you're choosing to spend a meal credit there you're taking the risk of not liking it. :rolleyes2

If you don't like 'Ohana go someplace else...don't go in with the idea that you can eat your meal and then get them to comp it since you are going to be miserable because you were "forced" to go someplace you don't like.

Tell your friend you had a bad experience there and you won't go back, or just assume you're going to suck it up and eat there for your friend. You can't go in assuming that you'll be comped if you don't like the food.

Maybe you should consider splitting up for table service too.

I highly doubt they'll comp something you've already eaten. What does Judge Judy say? "If you eat the steak, you pay for the steak!" :rotfl2:
