I already got a hotel booked, so thats not a problem. But I was wondering how the whole ticket thing works through getawaytoday.com? I asked my friend, and he said after you buy the tickets, they will mail them to you. Is this correct? Do they mail you actual "credit card" like tickets? Or are they just paper ones? Is getawaytoday.com trustworth?

I have used getawaytoday with great results. If you book a hotel and tickets through them, you get a hotel voucher that you give to the front desk when you check in. If you get tickets, a little note comes in your package telling that your tickets are electronic (sort of like airline e tickets). Whoever arranges for the tickets, their name will be on the tickets and you go to the ticket booth at DLR, hand them your driver's license and they issue the tickets. If you put the tickets in your name, make sure you have your driver's license so you can get your tickets. They are trustworthy and guarantee your hotel and everything. Also they have a toll free number you can call if anything goes wrong and they will make it right.

I am thinking of getting tix through them too. Their current offer includes lanyards and a pin. Will they mail these to you? Or do you have to go somewhere to get them?

We love GAT! We used them for our honeymoon. Only bummer is they don't cover our new favorite hotel, The Candy Cane Inn. We have used GAT more than once and they are reputable and reliable. We have had totally positive experiences with them.

The "tickets" are a voucher you turn in for real tickets at the ticket booths. They are eligible for upgrade to annual passes.

They mail you the lanyard and pin. We received pluto this time, but have several others from previous trips. I ordered a package for 12 people with 3 different payers (3 diff credit cards), I called instead of doing it online which I've done before. They were sooooo nice and helpful. Even with a little glitch, it all worked out great. Also, right now, you get 2 early entries with your tickets of 3 days or longer. I got a pretty big box in the mail with all the lanyards (12) and pins (12 of the same). It came pretty fast too. Within about 4 or 5 days.

This might be a "doh!" answer, but with GAT I know you can book tickets & hotel.. And just tickets.. But what about just hotel?

I'm pretty sure you have the option to remove the tickets from your package altogether and just get the hotel, but honestly you can do better booking directly.

Thanks, DM.. :) We're going to be buying APs this time around, and probably ahead of time at Disney Store at our mall, so we won't need tickets.. But shopping around and going on all the "discount hotel" sights it looks like booking with the hotel directly has been by far the cheapest..

They are based in Ogden, Ut. So it took just overnight for my tickets in December. You can also get dining tickets for character dinners from them.

I just looked at their website - you can do just tix but there's a $10 "tix only" surcharge. Also, there's a $20 shipping/handling fee. I'll have to go back and do the math and figure out if this still makes them cheaper? Any math brains out there?

Where's Bumbershoot when we need her? She's a Disney math whiz! Molly?

If any of you have the link for the character meals, could you please post it? I could not for the life of me find it on GAT's website. :confused3 I know I saw it before, but :confused3 :confused3 I must be losing my mind, because it's not there now as far as I can see!:rolleyes1

Never mind, I found the link! :rolleyes1 I just checked and DL is $204 per adult for 5 day PH. GAT is $194. In my case, I need 3 adult PH. If they charge a $20 surcharge and $10 fee, then we aren't saving anything by buying trough them. If we get $10 off s/h then I guess that's something, but not much. Do they really charge a $20 surcharge?

ETA: I just checked and no there is no additional surcharge unless they have to rush your stuff to you via Fed Ex. Otherwise it's the $10 fee which the Castle coupon code worked to remove.

:rotfl:

My Disney Math brain seems to be malfunctioning right now! I think it's too busy trying to justify the Disney hotels, even though for a solid year I didn't think they were worth it, and that's caused a fried circuit in there. :)

But you just have to write down prices, and compare apples to apples as much as you can.

And then BOOK IT, because as we found out while booking our September 2007 trip, prices can change, across the board, mid-day without warning. :headache: I dithered and dallied, and one day in March the prices on EVERY site went up (though i didn't know about GAT at the time) and we spent a few hundred bucks more than expected b/c of that.

OH! that's good news - I was just looking at the site (didn't actually go all the way through to purchase). It sounds like they are a good deal, then.
Is it true you an get 2 early entries with their tix?

We got 2 MMs for our November trip. But I heard that may be changing in the New Year. We only paid a one time surcharge. We kept adding character meals and I called in for those. Asked if I had to pay the surcharge and they waved it. FYI, we arrived late on our first night (9:00 and the park closed at 8:00). We had early PS at Storytellers and didn't know how we could get the vouchers. Called GCH and they can print them for you there. We arrived at the GCH about 15 minutes early for our PS. They printed all of our meal vouchers and park hoppers.
BUT ONE WARNING!! Make sure that GAT enters the dates you will be at the park when you make your order. Otherwise, they will not appear on the Disney computeres and they will have to call GAT to get it straightened out.I added a charaqcter meal online instead of calling. Online thinks you will be going within the week. We were leaving within the onth. So they had to call GAT to get the dates available change. No biggie as we were there early.
