Getaways!

I think I know this answer but I really wanted to ask and get a more definitive answer from my fellow DISer's


With other timeshare products it is my understanding you can purchase last minute deals to resorts. Example: A friend owns in Cape Cod. He just purchased a getaway cheap in Florida. It was a cash transaction so had nothing to do with his timeshare other than it gave him access to the deal!

Does DVC offer that? How do I get it if they do?

I would love a last minute to the carribean I hate this cold but need a good deal in order to go!

True members of II and RCI have access to cheap rentals and last minute exchanges. DVC members are not actually members of II and as such have no access. There are third party options where you can rent last minute but I do not have a listing of these. Go to TUG at tug2.net and ask, I'm sure you'll get a list of 3-5 sites where you can access similar deals. You can also look to rent from an individual. Look at places like TUG for the last minute postings as well as many BBS have a place where one can post these type of offerings.

don't overbid - a true timeshare will be for 7 days and the extra charge will be $195 + $15 that is all.

also talk to your friend - II allows 12 getaways per year - I have done that for co-workers.

I really love the Marriott offers - look at all of them - sometimes they have a deal - other time it is not....
