For those who may not be subscribers to Mousesavers newsletter, Mary says that there is a strong rumor that WDW ticket prices will go up on Sun. Aug 3. If that is true and if the AP prices are included, now may be the time to order your discounted DVC AP voucher (or other tickets for that matter!)

thanks for the info...i am arriving @ssr on the 21st i was thinking if i should purchase my annual passes early.

our passes dont' expire til Oct 24...but I was going to renew them. Can I renew early and pay the price that is in effect now?

what is the rumored increase? We'll have to buy the youngest a ticket this coming May so if it's a large increase it would make sense to buy now and hold the voucher.

Yes you can. I love these heads-up notices on the Disboards! This is the 3rd year that I've renewed my AP using the older prices. Our AP's expire in September.

PS. I'm also planning to buy some park hoppers for the family as presents.

So how do we go about renewing if we aren't about to expire. We expire Oct 13th.

I got it too, no specifics in the newsletter, just that the general tix prices r going up...it's been almost 2 years as i recall, possibly the longest stretch in the last few years;)

This year, I called MS and bought vouchers for DH and myself. When they come, and when we go to WDW, we take the vouchers and go to guest relations and get the new AP's. The new AP's will expire exactly one year after the present ones do.

Last year, I hadn't seen the notice of price increase until Saturday night, just before the price was going up, and I simply went on line to the AP site, and ordered from there. I took the print out of the renewal order to Guest Relations and we got the '07-08 passes when we went to WDW last September.

we bought yesterday :woohoo: but I thought APs were park hoppers?:confused3
Help!

So does anyone know historically how much the increase is for the renewal, and I forget what is the DVC renewal price?

You can park hop as much as you want with an AP. I think Bobbi is buying some hoppers for family members that don't have APs.

I thought we could only buy renewals within 30 days of expiration? Were you outside that window last year, Bobbi?

I do not know historical increases.

Right now, to renew a DVC annual pass, it's $315 + $20.48 tax. Oh, and $3 to have the vouchers shipped.

No the prices went up in Aug last year and the year before I think they went up 2X Jan and Sept.

Last year I renewed my on line too like another poster said...in Aug that expired in Oct and got voucher...it was easy...you just need the # from the back of the AP's

We are the DGP and buy park hoppers for the family members who join us. So, we're going to load up on some non-expiration park hoppers for extended family members.

Regarding the renewals....maybe it's that you can't renew 30 days PAST the expiration date, there was nothing preventing me from getting these renewals. As I said, ours renew in September, and it's July and I was able to get the voucher from MS. It was pointed out that our new passes will expire one year from the present expiration date and that's in September.

I cannot find an online link to renew. I called MS and was told I can't renew through MS until I'm within 30 days. The CM said that it might be possible at Guest Relations. So I called the general WDW ticket number and, after being on hold and transferred a couple of times, I WAS able to get a renewal voucher at the DVC rate. My current pass doesn't expire until Nov. and, like Bobbi, I was told that the voucher will move my expiration date up one year. Maybe the DVC AP and renewal rates won't even go up, but at least I'm covered.

how much is a new annual pass with the dvc discount

$348 + tax adult and $307 + tax child for a new voucher
$315 + tax adult and $287 + tax child for a renewal voucher

I am not going until May and was wondering if I got an AP now would it not be activated until May when I trade in the voucher?

Correct. I have a 2 year old voucher that I have not used yet because I am renewing instead.
