Okay, i chose a tabloid-style headline but would you get rid of it? Part of me says no to getting rid of ANY of Walt's favorites. However, I think the Safari at AK now accomplishes things that Walt always wanted and he would find the JC to be outdated and unnecessary.

I still hate to even think of losing it though. If you think it should be closed, what kind of "Adventure" ride would you replace it with? I would love to have some Truly adventurous ride that the whole family (or most of it) could enjoy.

Seeing the Indiana Jones ride similar to the one at DL would be great.

But

Getting rid of the Jungle Cruise just to get a thrill ride.... very very poor move.

my family votes to keep the Jungle Cruise...maybe just update it a bit like DL just recently did. :)

I almost feel dirty suggesting it. haha I wouldn't want it replaced by a roller coaster or anything. The ride would have to be special.

ahhhh Blasphemy I say!!

I love the CM's who get the ride and who go the extra mile in keeping us laughing - that's the true part of the ride for us!!

I wouldn't be disappointed if Jungle Cruise left...but I wouldn't necessarily be hoping it disappears either. I agree that with the introduction of AK, the Jungle Cruise is kinda pointless, and I would agree that it takes up a lot of space (plenty of space for an Indy ride :) ). However, if they were to get rid of a ride that takes up a lot of space, I'd go with the Speedway first.

Nooooo, that's Disney blasphemy you're speaking. It would be like tearing down It's a Small World. It's cheesy and silly and dates itself, but it wouldn't be the same park without it.

Oh wow. I would miss that ride and all of it's cheesy jokes. Walt would roll over in his grave if they took that ride out of the park.

Keep the jungle cruise! We need to keep SOME of the original attractions! It wouldn't be Disney without some of them. :mickeybar

why not add another stitch ride, or something Pixar. That way we can get rid of all things Walt had set out to accomplish.

If there is anything I know about Walt Disney after years of research and understanding is that he knew the park needs to change to be vital. That was his goal.

However, I sill like the ride but he wanted real animals originally and it coudn't work then. Walt always looked to the future that's what made him who he was.

If he were alive things would change. But I like leaving everything that he had his hand in creating since I respect him so much.

I agree with your sarcasm. Jungle Cruise needs to stay.

I'm always against taking out any ride at WDW. While the Jungle Cruise isn't amoung my favorites, its someone favorite and I get sad thinking that that person won't get to ride it anymore.

I agree, if you get the right CM the ride can be so fun! Last time we were still laughing as we walked away from the boat. It does hold a special place for us because on our first trip our older daughter got to "steer" the boat and then the next time we went our younger daugher was selected. Now they are 16 and 13 and enjoy the laughs.

I agree with both of your points. To me its kind of sad that JC has had to resort to parodying itself, since that wasn't the original intention. While I am definitely on the side of keeping the attractions that Walt himself helped design, I think if a ride is losing attendence or interest it might be better to think of either updating or removing. That being said, last time I was there (August) the lines for JC seemed pretty long.

This is what I think of getting rid of The Jungle Cruise

They just couldn't...I mean, they wouldn't, would they??? :confused3 My son got to drive it on his first trip out there, and he'll never forget it...we're going back in May and the first thing he asked was if I thought he was too old to drive it again...

so no...don't get rid of it...but spend some of those billions on some new animatronics!! :flower:

I have mixed feelings since my first experience with this ride was on my honeymoon back in 1986. :lovestruc
However, we have been on the Indiana Jones ride in DL and my husband loved it. Therefore, I say replace the ride with Indiana Jones just like DL. ::yes::

i say no. jungle cruise was walt's favorite ride. it would destroy MK if they ever do get rid of it.
