Mardi Gras is right around the corner....and many of us here in Louisiana can't wait... TO LEAVE!!!!!

Yep.. look for a HUGE MOB of us to invade WDW for the week of Mardi Gras... Saints / LSU shirts.. beads.. etc..etc.. it's all coming with us!!!!

Brace yourself Mickey.. 'cause here we come!!!

We'll be there with you. It's bittersweet because we'll miss Mardi Gras, but I'll get over it. I plan on going to a bunch of parades before we leave, so that should satisfy my hunger. WDW has nice ones, but NOTHING beats New Orleans parades. We're driving out of here on the 28th and are checking into SSR on the 2nd.

So I guess we should position ourselves under your balcony and shout "Throw me something, Mister!"

I'll be at WDW in March, and French Quarter Fest(1st time) in April, can not wait its been a long cold winter in Vermont.

How is the French Quarter Fest?

I been to the Jazz fest, and Festival Internationale which were both great! One of my all time favorite music scenes was Piano night (wwoz) at HOB between weeks of the Jazz fest, that is an amazing venue.

French Quarter Fest has become the most favored for locals as it really hasn't gotten much attention from tourist as compared to the other major events down here. You will certainly enjoy it as the weather is usually near perfect and it has tons of uniquely New Orleans food and activities. We will be heading over to WDW just after we enjoy all the parades just prior to Mardi Gras. :cool1:

I have volunteered at the French Quarter Fest for the past few years. It has been my favorite festival because it showcases local musicians and all the money made at the festival supports local musicians....even the tips. I will say that after my experience last year, I think the best kept secret is now out. It was quite crowded, but still a great time and great food. If you do go, save room for the Krispy Kreme bread pudding. YUM!

Thank you for the info I can hardly wait! I been to New Orleans about 6 times in the last 13 years but never to the French Quarter Fest. Looking forward to all the local musicians and the local people.

I'm SOOOOO jealous!!! This year will be the first time in 10 yrs that we will not be going to WDW for Mardi Gras week :sad1:..but my DS is starting Catholic High School in August and the tuition is more than double what I'm paying now so no MG trip for us and no WDW at all this year. :sad2: At least we can look forward to HHI in June :) Say "hi" to Mickey for me!!!!

No need to call for the throws... we are not big Mardi Gras fans..

Less than 5 days now!!! Look out Mickey... here we come!!!

Car is packed. We leave in 7 hours. Goodnight.
