Has anyone used Get Away Today Vacations? www.getawaytoday.org

I checked out rates at the Quality Hotel Maingate with 2 adult and 2 child 3 day park hoppers for $449. Does that sound pretty good? That is for July 23- 27.

Through the Disneyland.com it was over $600.00 TIA

I purchased tickets through them for Disneyland and Universal 3 days later I had them and very nice customer service they were a little more expensive for the hotel packages though I did better booking myself at the Candy Cane for August at $77 night

This is what I was thinking> if i were to buy 2 adult and 2 kid passes is a little over $400. So that makes the hotel $49.00. Staying at Candy at $77/night that would be $240, plus 200 for the tickets. About the same price

that right now and through summer I believe that Disneyland has deals on tickets - Isn't it Kids play free or adults the price of kids (not sure which one) - so take that into consideration.

We used them last year for just a hotel rate and had a great deal and super customer service.

I've also looked at Getawaytoday, but it doesn't seem to be such a good deal to me for the package. First of all, for your dates of July 23 - 27, you need to be looking at the 5 day/4 night price which is $519. You can purchase tickets through them with the special of getting a child's ticket free for each adult ticket. Price is $114 each + $10 handling for total of $238. This means, you're paying $281 for the hotel at $70.25 a night. In checking a few websites, it looks like it's readily available for $69. I guess it's a small savings since the package price does include tax, so you're saving the tax on $281.

In your case, it does seem to have a slight advantage. When I checked for our trip in March, we stayed at the Embassy Suites and got a special rate which was about $40 a night less than the Getawaytoday package, so it might depend on which hotel you're looking at and if they have any special rates available.

Have you thought about just ordering the tickets through Getawaytoday and purchasing your hotel room through Priceline? That's what I'm going to do when we go back in November! Great information on Priceline at www.biddingfortravel.com.

On the tickets for every adult ticket you buy you get a child for free so I had to pay for myself and 1 ds the other ds was free same with the Universal tickets so basically I did better

This is the first time I have used GetAwayToday.org..... I have a few questions, maybe someone here can answer them :-)

I have received my ticket vouchers from GetAway, can I take them to one ticket both and exchange them all at the same time.... like "one-stop-shopping", or do I have to go to a ticket booth at each park and redeem them?

I read on the back of Universal voucher that i need to take the voucher to main gate....
Will they give me 2 adult tickets and 2 children tickets like the voucher is for, or will they admitt 2 adults and 2 children with the ticket voucher??
The reason i am asking is......
Will I have a childs ticket left over that i can give to a friend that lives in California, or will i be looking for someone in front of me or behind me in line, to have their child go in with me, and get into park free??
(I just can't bring myself to waste that ticket)

Thanks for any information you can offer..... :-)

With your ticket voucher, you have to go to the regular ticket booth to get your tickets. You will receive 2 adult and 2 child tickets. You get to use the tickets for both parks. Last year, I tried to sell our extra child ticket to people in line. But no one was interested. So we kept it and used it as an extra fast pass. Once it is used it expires in 13 days, I believe. I don't know if there is an expiration date, if you don't use it. The wait in line to get the tickets was a pain, I wish they would just send you tickets. Where are you staying??

Hi Jill,
Not sure how well I did at planning this, but it is only me and my two sons, and we decide to just "go-with-the-flow" if i messed up the plans in any way......
We are staying at several different places, because of doing different things in CA.
This is our first trip out..... (a learning experience).....
We have learned so much from this board..... :-)

Doubletree Hotel San Diego (Sea World and Zoo)
Four Points By Sheraton Rancho Bernardo (Wild Animal Park)
Four Points Hotel Fullerton (4 Days of Disney fun & Knott's Farm)
Safari Inn Burbanks (Universal studio & L.A. area)
Hyatt Regency La Jolla (See seals and Relax for three days before heading home)

If you have stayed at any of this Hotels, and can give me any insight on them, that would be great...... :-)
(Got great deals on all the hotels at PriceLine.com)

Coldeyes, do you mind me asking about the Doubletree San Diego? I have been trying to find a decent deal in San Diego but I've had no success. You said that you went through Priceline? How soon are you going? We are going in August so it may be a little too early to try Priceline. Any info would be much appreciated.

Hello Planogirl,

I don't know anything about the Doubletree in San Diego..... I will know after my stay and can up-date ya when I get back..... :-)
I went through Priceline.com in late March to get the hotel for beginning of July.

$48.00 a night
$19.92 taxes
$5.95 PL processing fee

Total stay for 4 nights is $217.87

If you are going to use PriceLine.com, may i suggest that you check out the web site biddingfortravel.com, you will find alot of help there about bidding on PriceLine.... :-)

Hope this helped.... :-)
