Get 5 in room at AKL/WL

dismom3----- I really don't know if a air mattress would fit or not. I have been at POR with five. It was a little tight, but doable.(we had the trudle) The standard rooms at POR are 314 sq ft. The standard rooms at AKL are 344 sq ft. According to guide books, some standards have a queen and bunks at AKL. I would certainly ask if the three year old could be in the room. You might be surprised by the answer. I understand about 5 as we are a family of five. Disney seems to have fewer choices for families larger than four. Hope the sq ft info is helpful to you.

Yes, it's possible to get 5 in a room at AKL if you pay for a room for 5

When are you going and how much are you willing to pay? There are lots of affordable legit options for parties of five.

That's it! You've convinced me. I'm calling now and upgrading to a deluxe room. Hopefully the extra few sq. ft. will be helpful for the 5 of us.

I think the rooms for 5 at AKL have about 380 sq. ft. That is what I booked for our family. I hope it works for your family. Hope ou have a nice vacation.

It will fit. I stayed with 5 in a regular room at WL. (daughter was 1 month shy of 3). DS 10 and DS 7 slept in bunks and me, DH and DD slept in queen bed. Across from beds is the armoire. Next to that I put her Graco stroller, which I left open and piled up the 3 suitcases next to that. So in that space you can definetly put a twin mattress. BTW, I don't think you will be cramped for space at all. You aren't moving in there! You are sleeping, changing and leaving for the day...how much room is needed for that? Also, there are double sinks with a full counter outside of the room with the toilet and tub. You can store more things under the sink as well. Have fun!

We have 3 children, ages 14, 11 and 3. I was hoping with bunkbeds, that we could fit a twin aerobed in there. Does anyone know if it would fit?

There's no guarantee that you'll get bunkbeds. It's a request only, and there are a lot less bunkbed rooms than those with two queens, so the odds are against it.

If you think you'll be doing any early entry, you're hosed, as each member or your party needs a room key.

Also, sometimes they ask for room keys for the pool.

I just wouldn't risk it. If you use a code or AAA rate the difference between the regular and deluxe rooms is minimal. Those rooms are just too small for five to fit comfortably.

I understand your dilemma. We are now a family of 6 (the youngest is just 3 mths) so we've had this trouble a lot. What I can't understand is why people get so upset over this and why Disney doesn't provide reasonable options for larger families. We've never tried to put 5 in a 4 person room. We've done deluxes with codes and POR, but I have to say, we were way crowded at POR. Right now, we have reservations off site for a suite until we see if any good codes come out for Oct. We think we may try 2 AS rooms or 2 mod rooms, but this option worries me a bit. Our kids are 9, 7, 4, 3 mths. The rooms would have to be connecting and even then, I'd worry about the 4 yr old "escaping" without my knowledge.

Cinder,

I don't understand your logic.

If they made accomodations for six at the same price as those for four, then people with seven will complain "what about me?"

Where does it end?

There are accomodations for six, either via getting two rooms, or staying at a DVC resort, WL Jr. Suite, or FW Home.

I'm just not sure why people who made a choice to have lots of kids expect that accomodation should be made for them.

Not a flame, I just don't understand the logic behind the post.
