I wrote away for the codes on Thursday or Friday and still have not received them. I am helping my daughter's school dance team put a trip together (they have a budget) and I thought the coupon would be a great savings for them since I will be buying 8 tickets at once x2. But if I do not get the code in time I can not risk the price going up. So long request short if anyone has a code they are not using we could really put it to good use.

I, like many of us, are awaiting codes. Here is my dilemma, with your experience with flying southwest, if you fly out of a different airport than you flew into, can you book this online as a roundtrip? When I get the promo code for $25 roundtrip that would save us $50 if we can do it but I don't see on their website how to book that without booking two separate flights. Can it be done? Also, do flights typically just keep going up??? I have seen some go up and some go down so I'm unsure when to book. The flight to LA is at $139 so maybe I should at least book that one and if the fair goes down I could get a credit and use it towards the returning flight but then I couldn't use the promo right? What do I do???

You can not buy a round trip ticket in and out of two different airports online. You can only buy two one ways. i know that does not help use one coupon.
The prices can go up or down. On our flight next month they went down twice and then the third time they went up. Yes you can get a credit for the price drop online or by phone. If you have a roundtrip and only one leg goes down you still get the credit, no need to book one way tickets. ONly need to book one ways if you are going in and out of different airports.

To get the full $25 you need to book round trip and that would be using the same airport. I do believe (not certain) that you can book a one way and it will take off $12.50 though. If you had 2 codes you could book 2 one-way trips and you'd get the full $25 off each diveded between the 2.

I'd love to see if that would work.... I'm still awaiting my codes but if someone has a code that they haven't used yet and would be willing to let me see if the roundtrip out of different airports worked I'd really appreciate it. I wouldn't actually use the code, meaning complete the trans I just want to see if it'll even work. If it doesn't than I'll go ahead a book it now.

You can not buy a round trip ticket in and out of two different airports online.

Darn! I know most airlines allow you to book round trip tickets in/out of different airports as long as those airports are in the same market. Such as San Franscico, Oakland and San Jose, or Los Angeles, Burbank, Long Beach and Orange County. I flew into San Jose and out of Oakland but booked through a travel agent. The round trip airfare was the same as if I had gone in/out of the same airport.

Just an fyi- you do not need one code per person. I used one code for the four of us and got 12.50 off per flight(you had to book round trip). So I just saved $100.

Thanks OP! I got a code to use, but now I am wondering if it is worth it to use because you have to book round trip. For years now we've bought one way tickets on Southwest. My family kind of tag-teams and we watch the airfare very closely. We'll snag any drop in price. Its usually just one direction that drops, too........ aargh...what to do? what to do?
