Geriatric MM Warriors!

The meeting was only 2.5 hours, so not too bad. A lot of minor decisions were tabled until next month so the major decisions could be made.

Nell, I loved your commend about shoes. We must be twins separated at birth.

I just screwed up my post so now I can't see anything else.

Somebody made eggplant that sounded good. The chix dish that everyone was talking about sounded good, and I am glad to see the instructions for the turkey breast.

Well, after 13 hours of work/school, I am tired and going to bed. I'll try to check in tomorrow before we go for eye appointments.

Do any of you live where you get a lot of kids at Halloween? Seems we get kids by the busload. I think because our development is a little nicer in the area people feel safe bringing their kids here. I will need to buy a lot of candy and I'm trying to decide what to do with the leftovers if there are any. I'm not worried about temptation thanks to MM.

We don't get a lot of kids, but I always buy candy that I don't like so I'm not tempted to eat it. For me, dark chocolate and coconut are both yucky, so I buy Mounds bars. Otherwise, just about any candy is fair game.

Kate, are you around tonight, or did work steal you again?

I'm here tonight. Work was hectic again today.

Robin got me motivated and I actually have a pork loin in the crock pot! I have a headache tonight. I went to the chiropractor today and had some adjustments on my neck so I think that might be why? I had spaghetti squash with pesto for dinner.

ah, very wise you are from your armchair! :thanks: me a priority, that is tough but I know I HAVE to start treating myself like that or I'll always feel bad.

Natalie - it is all about small steps. Sounds to me like you have taken quite a few small steps lately. :cheer2:

Why would you need pictures of your shoes on boxes when you can see them plain as day laying on the closet floor like I do? :confused3 :lmao:

Our closets must look the same! Do you trip on the ones that get away?

I don't know about here, but I hope we gets lots of kids. I have a ball when I get to give out stuff. I buy little toys in bulk from Oriental traders usually. One year we had silly eyeglasses and the word spread. I've never seen so many spooks ringing the bell! :)

Kate, Pony will be so proud of you! :) It's wonderful that your making use of the crock pot with all of the hours your pulling. It's nice to see you tonight!

This sounds pretty good Lisa. :teeth: I never thought of putting chicken on top of broccoli. I actually have both in the house right now. But not any soup. I wonder if that broccoli type creamed soup, or the same thing of cauliflower would work instead of buying the soup. I bet it would. See, I have the first meal on my shopping list to buy for!

These days I just saute up some mushrooms and add some sour cream and seasonings and then use that in place of the high sugar/salt prepared soups. I did that the last time I made chicken divan and it was fine. The curry helps with the seasoning. I had forgotten about that recipe. Think I will do that later in the week. Thanks for the reminder, Lisa

Nell, that's a great idea! That way I could give the toys to the local Helpline if there are some left. :thumbsup2

Hi Jocelyn. If the recipe is cooked in the crockpot do you add the mushroom/sour cream mix at the end so it doesn't overcook?

I LOVE Halloween although my house is on a hill. There are no sidewalks and it is pretty dark. So no tricker-treaters for us....

Thank you, Nell. You just made my night - it is good to see you too.

It was so weird starting step1 again today. I kept looking at the clock to make sure I was getting my carbs in every 5 hours, then I'd realize I didn't have to worry about it and felt such relief. Who'd have thought I'd ever feel relief not having to eat carbs ? :confused3 Who'd have thought I'd be over 12 weeks into a new WOE and still commited and happy? :confused3 I think I have to give you all a lot of credit for my success and I thank you.

Love you all!

Can we invite Fishinpot/Carol? I think she would be a good addition. Here is her post from LCF:

Hey, Is anyone out there?

I have gone to the new MM site and don't see much happening. People just aren't posting and I'm wondering where everyone is. There's no chatter and no conversation going. I checked for familiar names on the register and saw Nell, VirginiaPonyGirl, Simpleone, and a few others but no dialogs. I myself don't quite know how to converse on that site...too many options for me. A simple step 1 or 2 forum would be all I'd need.

If anyone has info to give me about posting on that site or if there's another that is being used now, please let me know on this thread. I miss all the info and support. Also the silliness.

Thanks,
Carol

Hi Jocelyn. If the recipe is cooked in the crockpot do you add the mushroom/sour cream mix at the end so it doesn't overcook?

No, it is made as a casserole. I use the Campbell's soup recipe. I think you can google it. There are several variations out there.

Good thing I don't live near you. I LOVE Mounds bars...

They are one of my favorites too....yum!!

I have been buying the unsweetened low fat coconut at Whole Foods and adding it to things. I know - a lot of people don't like it, but I sure do.
