Geriatric MM Warriors!

Haha Nell! You're right, I am all about herding and organizing...so if the darn shoes are out of line, you need to just herd em back into the closet!! My entire family is sure that I was in the military in a past life! I just like knowing where things are when I want them!

Hey Tutu - 2 miles, 300 calories, and a heck of a sweat tonite! Maybe that was cuz I was talking to Ken while I was on the treadmill though!!

Nell - I like the idea of giving out the small gifty things instead of candy...parents dont have to worry about whether the candy is safe, and the kids probably enjoy something different. I couldn't get a kid to come all the way out here to trick or treat if I paid them!

Well if everyone is gone to bed, I guess I will watch the tube and read myself to sleep! Wow, not even Jocelyn is here!! :happytv:

NITE My MM Friends, heres to a wonderful Thursday!:grouphug:

Robin is in Love! :love2: See, here is Robin and Ken :lovestruc:love:

Too cute!!!

Glad you liked your hug. You are special.

I had a great day - went to the gym after spending time here this morning and then came back and went swimming.

I tried the chicken breasts in the crock pot with my taco seasoning and some chiles, but it was kinda blah. I put it on lettuce ala taco salad, but had to add salsa and sour cream to make it more palatable. Hubby was not impressed either, but I had something else for him.

Lisa, if we could overdose on taco salads we would have been gone a long time ago!!!:lmao::lmao: They are a staple as I don't have to stand long to prepare them at the end of the day and they are filling.

I'll see what other posts there are before I say good night for the final time!

This will be good night and then good morning when you all get up. Sorry Pony, I was late getting back on this evening.

We won't even go into shoes in this household. Hubby just doesn't understand the need for different colors and styles!!!! Mine do have to be organized though due to lack of storage space here.:lmao::lmao: At least most of them are sandals so they don't take up a lot of room!

Love to ALL:love:

Kathy, I love hot dogs. I get the Hebrew National which are only 1 carb too. What I do is wrap it in a paper towel and nuke it. The paper towel absorbs a lot of the fat.

The Hebrew National ones I saw here had 3 net carbs. That is why I went with the Nathan's. I'll have to look for them in the other stores we have. Our walmart has gotten to the point of hardly no selection of anything.

Someone else misses us (well, Robin, Nell and Lisa anyway) at LCF. I think she must have been a lurker because she only has one post.....

Pony, Nell Lisa where are you. I would like to be with you guys where ever you are.

I did send Carol/Fishinpot a PM last night and will give her directions to us if she wants to come over.

All Right Alll you Smart Alecs....YES I was on the phone with Ken!! He has called about 5 times today, so we chatted on the phone while I was on the treadmill...multitasking, right? Then I had to hang up so I could lift weights...havent figured out how to do that with one hand yet...:lmao:, so he called again on my way home and we just hung up...ok, go ahead and SAY IT!! YES, Pony is definitely in love...OMG are you SOOO SICK of hearing it yet!!

We will never get sick of hearing that you are happily in love! You can just yap, yap, yap and we will eat it up!:love::love:

Good thing I don't live near you. I LOVE Mounds bars...

You could have them. I don't think anyone in my family likes them. They usually get put in the donation box at church right after Halloween. We support another local United Methodist church which has a food bank, etc. They are always looking for little candies, McD's toys, etc. for the kids that come in with their parents.

As I read further, it appears that Mounds is a very popular candy among you ladies. I even bought dark chocolate as a late night 5x5, one small bite of one small square was all I got through before it went in the garbage. I have found the only good coconut in life is in a pina colada.

I'm back at work for a short day today since both DD10 and I have eye appts. I know I need new glasses, and she has had a lot of eye strain issues and a ton of headaches, so hopefully we'll find out if anything is wrong. Of course the thought of buying 2 new pair of glasses today is not a happy thought.:scared1:

Glad to see that everyone can be happy here with our chitchat intermingled with our MM information.

Did anyone else pick up the new First magazine? I saw it at the store yesterday and the big diet article on the front cover is about MM. I haven't had a chance to read it recently, but thought the tag line "Lose 32 lbs. ...." was a bit misleading. I need to sit and read it tonight (if I have time).

Have a great day and I'll check back in later.

Good Morning! Got my hour of "Ken Fix" this morning early, so here I am!

Kate - who was the person that posted that about wanting to be where we are? I didnt see a name in the quote? thanks for letting me blabber on and on...Im such a GOOF these days! I hope Fish will come over...I liked her.

Bev - OMG, you are SO right about the coconut...Pina coladas or FORGET IT! You reminded me I desperately need to go to the eye doc too...been far too long and I know I need new contacts...just hate to spend all that money!

Kathy - Our Walmart has nothing these days too...they are doing a major re-model and it looks like a war zone in there:headache:

Her name is "tobamelia" and she only has 1 post. I think she must have been a lurker. That is what happens when you just lurk....no one gets to know you and you get left behind. Actually, I am sorry that people got left behind. I have looked at the new forum (Diane's) a few times and really don't like the format. You have to look at each new thread to find out what is going on. And, if you will remember, I hate feeling like I am missing out on something! No one (except Daisey) is posting at LCF.

I hope Carol/Fishinpot comes over.

My dinner is ready! I put pork tenderloin in the crock pot. I put some spicy spices on it and a can of green salsa. I was thinking of pork burritos... I think it might have turned out a little too spicy for DH? I think a big glob of sour cream in his burrito will do the trick...

Hey, Beverly. Let us know about the First article when you have time. I have purchased several pairs of prescription sunglasses on-line using the prescription I got from my doctor. I need glasses for driving and I like to have at least one extra pair in case I lose one (who me?). Anyway, they were very inexpensive and work fine. I asked my doctor and she said it was okay as long as I get my eyes checked periodically to make sure that my prescription hasn't changed. To find a website for the sunglasses, I googled "cheap prescription glasses" and got LOTS of hits.

Kate - I know what you mean about the new forum...about 20 different threads going all over the place and the same few people going to all of them and saying the same things...BORING and CONFUSING...I dont even bother any more...I didnt realize anyone was still over at LCF? Poor Dasiey is just posting to herself!!! Yeah, the pork can take on whatever flavors you put in there, so maybe the spices sent DH over the edge! I keep mine more basic and then add spices to each serving if I am in the mood. My mom likes it a little on the bland side and have to be sure she can eat too! Oh yeah, did I mention I have her living here with me now? Wish I could get her to do this WOE, but no chance of getting that old dog to learn new tricks!!

No, I don't think you mentioned that your mom was living with you. I am not sure what it would be like to have my mom living with me. The world pretty much revolves around my mom and that can be quite stressful.... Her BF of many years is quite a bit younger than she is. So hopefully he will stick around (I think he will as there are many perks to hanging out with my mom such as traveling, playing tournament bridge, and not working very much).

Going to stop and get that First magazine on my way in to work! I like the mag anyway, so usually pick it up every now and again. I dont like the fact that they promote specific pounds lost....especially since MM is so NOT about that!

Kate - its not so bad having mom here really...although I did wonder after not living with her since I was 16!! Haha, I graduated early from HS and moved out the next week! Luckily my folks were great people and I had no issues with them, just the desire to get out on my own and be all Big and Bad! Dad passed in 1992, and Mom would never even CONSIDER dating again, although she was only in her late 50's I think when he died. She did quite well on her own all those years, but with me here in virginia, I just didnt like that she was alone so much. She loves it here and I have a big home, so she has her own little master suite with her own big bath, and sitting room, so she doesnt bother me much and she loves helping take care of the ponies so that is a plus when I am so busy! She is very active and healthy too, has a part time job working in the Lowe's garden center, and they LOVE her there! So she has a little social life at work and is "Gram" to all the younger workers.

Thanks Kate. I hope she shows up soon.

Pony: Thanks for the tips on the turkey. Yum! I can’t wait. I’m going to go lift it out for tomorrow. Tom’s in charge of dinner tonight. I bet you anything he wants to meet me near my office. I work near the big new mall so it’s easy to find food anyway. Don’t you even try to talk to me about my shoes! I am a smart shopper, but I am also a sucker for cute shoes. I do have to dress up for work, so there’s my excuse and I have a very tall husband, so I can wear whatever I want. :thumbsup2

I’m glad you’re in love, Robin! It’s very cute. Ken sounds very romantic.

I love the Christmas card idea! I already have ours made from a photo we took on vacation at the beach with our son and the dog.

You guys remember Sherry with the cattle dog? She PM’d me – misses us and is miserable over there so I swore her to secrecy and told her to email me. We’ll see.

Seabreezes: I am a flip flop nut! When I go to Hawaii, I have to bring at least 4 different colors. :beach:

Kate: Your dinner sounds fantastic! Can you teach the dog to pick up the shoes?:dogdance:

I love the idea of Christmas cards too! my only concern is posting our home addresses on a public site. Any ideas for a more private address book?
