We've had a slight warmup today with sunshine, oh how I needed that. By Wednesday it's suppose to be back into the 70's! Yes! I will get to mow one more time this season.

I went clothes shopping again today with a couple of my daughters. JCPennys still had a quite a bit of nice summer stuff on clearance so I snatched up five lighter weight tops for Mexico next month. Which put my mind back on thoughts of how I'm going to deal with this WOE while I'm down there. It makes me nervous thinking about it.
Did I tell you all we're building a home down there? It will be our part time retirement home. DH did the basic framing and layout over the existing structure and got one bathroom and most of the kitchen done this summer. This trip will be painting and further lay out approval from me. DD26 decided to take two weeks off from work and is going down with us. This lets me off the hook for staying down for three weeks, so now I can leave early to bring her back. We're building it with the intent of having lots and lots of people down to vacation during the cold northern months. You hear that Robin? It might be a nice stopping off point for your honeymoon or when you start your travels. Humm?

I need to go out for dinner, this weekend has wiped me out!

Helloooooooo Met Miracle Warriors!!!!

Ok, fill me in here - is this where we are now? Or just another avenue for us to congregate? I've had a very hectic weekend between work, weddings and family/kids and worked like a DOG all day cleaning/shopping/cooking and ever rearranged my living room....OUT with the OLD and IN with the NEW!

It's a reclaiming of sorts. I am pooped but very happy with the results.

How's everyone doing??

I am so excited. I kept telling people about the black soy beans and then wondered if I was wrong since they are beans - but I don't think they are considered legumes. And it is FREE!!

I just got the rest of my frozen ones out of the freezer and am off to get some more meat to make up another batch of the taco mix we love. You do have to simmer the things made with them for a while for them to take on the seasoning. I put what ever I am making in the crock pot all day whether it is the chili or the taco mixture. Bev put my seasoning recipe in the recipes.

For chili I used a small can of crushed tomato, the beans and meat, garlic, onion, a bag of frozen mixed peppers ( I would use fresh red and green if I wasn't here cooked with the meat before adding to the crock pot) and lots of chili powder.

They would also make good black bean soup for people who like soup. We love soup, but it is just a bit too warm here most of the time to really enjoy. We eat salad with something else every night.

Several hours later….

I went for my swim and then read in the shade for a while. Lovely

Went to the store and have the crock-pot full of taco meat mixture. I freeze it in serving sizes for the 2 of us so will have several dinners all set to go.

I went over to LCF and saw the link to Diane’s new site – I don’t understand it – they have started a lot of threads that no one will be able to follow. I registered, but under a name that is not associated with me!!! Why they didn’t just start posting on Diane’s thread is beyond me, but you know who had to get into it and probably messed it royally!!

I think we should just stay here. We really won’t be able to help newbies, but there will be people out there who can. We all seem to need a lot of help ourselves for one reason or another!!!!

Maybe when Natalie sees her in person at the end of the month she can tell her about this site and how it came about. Did you notice that Diane said one person should e-mail her all the questions – I have a feeling she is overwhelmed with some of them. I think she has a special spot for Robin and Lisa and that is great.

Nell - hope your day started to get better – it sounded as if it did. I think that is wonderful you want to be a nurse – best of luck in all the processes it will take to get there.

I think I have saved all the posts from Diane, too, on my computer. I made a word file and copied them into it. They are still on LCF so anyone can access them.

Did you have a lot of lookers today for your open house, Lisa? It sounds as the real estate market has picked up a bit by the closings you are having.


It is still early here so I’ll check back later. Have pleasant dreams for those getting ready to call it a day!!

Thanks Jocelyn! Just in the nick of time you popped in with your chili recipe. I ordered a 12 pack of black soybeans from Amazon today (HA HA Netrition) so I'll be making some crock pot chili very soon

I am glad that Abby and Tutu are going to make it here also!!

I also went to the new sight, and the background colors are way too bright and I am afraid it will be the same old thing over there and that is such a shame. Anyone committed to the WOE doesn't mind plowing through the thread to learn about everyone. If they just want MM info READ the Book

The last two days my Dad has become more and more weaken due to not eating and his drinking. I told him he can't stay at the ranch if he can't get out of bed. I feel like I will need to move him soon.On a bright note I have to remember that my folks retired down here at age 52 and have spent 25 years down here with many wonderful memories. They had a life in Dallas and a whole another life here.

My eating has been a little off, but I keep plugging away. Hard to believe that it is middle of October.

Robin, I agree with you on the balloon boy they need jail time!!

Lisa, I hope your open house produces a sell. Real estate has been steady here could be better they tell me.

Kathy, sounds like a good, but tough visit to your step son.............tough road to travel.

I am sleeping thank goodness as I must stay healthy!!

BTW - on the Baileys that Barb and I are going to be enjoying, someone over there had posted a low carb Bailey's recipe! so Barb and I are going to enjoy 3g Baileys in our DECAF while smogging up the neighborhood breathing FIRE down our throats!!

That was our awesome Seabreezes and it's low carb Irish Cream and it'll do and it's really good! Let's see, by that time you'll be back on step2 so at 3g per shot..why that's party time!

Hi, Natalie. I am a family law (divorce) attorney. It was a whole weekend of "continuing education." The information was interesting but it means that I didn't get any "me" time. It also means that I haven't had any time to keep up with my MM Warrior friends!

Big news! I heard from Abby! She’s fine and very busy with her cookie business. I waited til she emailed me to fill her in on the happenings so I hope she registers soon. I also heard from Tutu today. She’s been unwell the last couple of days but plans to be here tomorrow.

That is such good news! Thanks for emailing them. I would hate to think of Abby not knowing where we went? I hope Tutu is feeling better.

Chantix! That's what I meant. My Dr. is going to give me some for free through a support program my health insurance provides. I've heard really good reports about it. Thanks for the other info. I'll do the download for sure.

Please, work closely with your doctor while taking the chantix. It is very powerful. Just as you believe this works, believe in the Chantix. You may feel apprehensive about not smoking, but the chantix does take the edge off. After about a week, the cigarettes will taste exactly like crap, you won't like the smell, you'll have chest tightness and sore throat. This is what a cigarette really tastes like. The nicotine can't attach to the dopamine, so you'll get no enjoyment out of the cigarettes.
I couldn't hack the full 2mg/day dosage. I did 1mg/day for about a month then weaned myself off by taking 1/2 mg/day for a couple weeks then 1/4mg/day.
You may want to discuss anti-depressants with your doctor when you come off the chantix. Some people get severely depressed. The chantix is a mood altering drug after all.
Some people combine the chantix with wellbutrin and have great success.
As I said if you guys want any words of wisdom, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'll steer you where I can.

In my "3D" life, I tend to keep people at arm's length. But when I met all of you here, it's just like all the walls came crashing down. It's really hard to explain. I know I can tell you all anything, and it will be ok. You won't judge me. You all have no idea how great it feels to be able to trust people. I am a pretty private person. I always have that happy face on. I could be torn up inside, but no one would know it. You all have helped me learn it's ok to open up to others. As I have said many times before, there aren't enough words to thank you all. Ok, I'm done being mushy LOL

Anybody else really ticked off that the whole boy in the balloon thing turns out to be his wacko father's publicity stunt? So many people across the country were worrying and praying for that child, so much money spent on searches, helicopters etc. and this jerk says he did it so he could get his own reality show? OMG I hope they all go to jail.

I think it is HORRIBLE! Mostly because they put their son in the middle of the whole thing. Did you hear that he threw up twice when questioned about why he was hiding? I doubt they will go to jail. I hope they have to pay for every dime of money that was spent!

Gena, I went through this with my Mom for awhile. When my stepdad died, she just wanted to drink and lose herself in memories. We eventually had to get her into a home close by because her alzeimers had gotten pretty bad. She didn't much like the place but I think it gave her a few more years. Stay strong and keep in touch.

I actually saw that! It was sooo gross. And the kid was sleeping on his dad and wouldn't wake up for the interview. When he did, he threw up.
My BIL worked at NORAD and we got a tour when we went to visit them. He is now retired from the air force and works in Colorado Springs as a missle engineer. I know that cost a pretty penny. Wonder if they will have to reimburse any of the expenses?

Great!! I am able to buy them dried here and cook them in the crock pot after soaking them overnight. You might need to find and oriental market for them. My local Safeway and Target carry them, but I think it is because of the population here. They are a bit less expensive that way. They used to carry the canned ones here, but no more so I am thankful for the dried ones.

Nell, you are too funny. I'm sure everyone is going to be starting new threads because they don't know what they are doing. KW sure responded fast. I do find it interesting that not one of us has been mentioned. Makes you really feel wanted, doesn't it???

I have a copy of that magazine - Nell or Pony mentioned it, but it is Wendy Chant's spin on fixing the metabolism, not Diane's. Somebody has their wires crossed. Maybe she will be in the next one. This is the 3rd diet out in a short time that is talking about repairing the liver, etc.

Pony, I posted the Bailey's recipe. Have you tried it? I don't know if it got in the recipe posts on the other site or not. I just checked and it is not in my trusty file!! I will have to go back and find it.

Kathy, how great that your daughter noticed. That's what keeps us going and yes, isn't this group just THE BEST. I have never posted as much on any of the other forums I have been on for the past several years.

Now I'll go and check to see how many posts have come in while I typed this I just can't keep up!!

OK, I went over and checked out the new forum and am confused already...looks like one thread with Diane originally starting and welcoming, then another one with guess who starting it and about 4 posts...hmmmmm dont like it already!! I know I need to be open minded and give it a chance...but why didnt GL just post on the one Diane started instead of doing a separate one? And the BS with calling Diane "Mama Met" just grates on my nerves....maybe its just ME...SORRY!

LOL! Those were my thoughts exactly! I took one look and immediately came back here and wrote my post of a few minutes ago that my vote is stay here!

I have done some accupuncture and I must say that the needles in the ears were not my favorites....but if it could help with something as difficult as cigarette smoking it might be something to consider.
