Georgetown Cupcakes

You can also call ahead 24 hours and pre-order them. Then when you go to pick them up, you don't have to wait in line. You can just walk right in and pick up the preorders.

This is what I plan to do but only online. We're staying near Georgetown so it'll be a pretty easy walk to pick them up.

This is what I was going to suggest. My daughter lives in DC and a visit to Georgetown Cupcakes is a must. But since the show, the line is always too long unless you get there very early. We love them (lemon berry is my favorite), but will have to try the cupcake shop mentioned in Dupont Circle.

They are good without being great. I would never pay to have them shipped, they're not THAT good!

The cupcake that I just had at the Cupcake Cupboard aboard the Allure of the Seas was better!!! Better tasting, moister, much larger. But unfortunatly, you have to book a cruise to get one of those!

Reasons to pass on Georgetown Cupcake:
The cupcakes are smaller than most other cupcake shop.
The line is L-O-N-G.

personally, I really enjoy Georgetown cupcakes. I LOVE the icing- it's what really makes the cupcake in my opinion. I do have a huge sweet tooth, though, if that makes any difference.

I always go and pick them up myself, and I'm not sure I would pay that much for them with the shipping- I have seen on their facebook page that they do offer discount codes if you're part of their mailing list. A lot of the time someone will post the code on their page, though.

to anyone thinking of going to the actual shop- pre-order! When you get there, you go to the door, and there should be someone standing there with a notepad. tell them you pre-ordered, they'll ask for your name, and you'll be in and out in less than fifteen minutes. I don't think I'd ever stand in line for over an hour just for a cupcake, even though they are good.

Well, to get to Georgetown you'll need to take a taxi or drive. Metro doesn't go to Georgetown and the closest metro stop is a very long walk. There is only a circulator bus, but I don't know what that schedule is. Parking is a pain so good luck.

Is there a trolley tour that will go through Georgetown? Also, we are staying here http://www.fourpointsdc.com/

What do you think of the location?

Thanks!

PS: We have ordered the cupcakes and they were really really good!

I love the show but the reviews on Yelp convinced me to pass if I'm ever in DC. "Baked & Wired" looks like a better alternative in Georgetown.

We tried Baked and Wired last time because the line at Georgetown Cupcakes was too long. My daughter that lives there likes Baked and Wired better, but my younger daughter and I like Georgetown Cupcakes better. But both were very good.

I'm good with that!!! I will have to try this out in Nov. Thanks for the tip!

My coworker does prefer Baked and Wired but I haven't tried them.
