I agree had there not been an uproar there would not have been charges filed, but that doesn't mean there wasn't probable cause for the charges.

It's not uncommon for one prosecutor to no file a charge and then it get filed later after outcry from victims or more evidence comes forward.

The fact that the state has the discretion to no file, then change its mind, indicates that it's not a big deal.

The uproar was instigated by folks with an agenda. They manipulated the public with outright lies and deception.

If the police told you "they don't need you to follow," would you still continue? And if so, wouldn't you tell them that was what you were doing?

I think you only feel that way for this one case. I'm willing to bet there have been times and other cases where you bemoaned the fact that it seems like the defendants have all the rights and the victims have none.

I hope at some point the prosecution gets something rolling. They have yet to get in a single "zinger". Seems like every witness they call to the stand is putty in the hands of the defense under cross!!! Sheesh!!

Ah, so the prosecution called Zimmerman's bff forward as a preemptive move then.

I heard they call all witnsses because they want to try to make their stories work for the prosecution. So far, it's a huge FAIL.

But it was illegal for Zimmerman to get out of the car and folliw Trayvon in a menacing or harassing manner. You can folliw someone but you cannot intimidate them That's stalking.

If Trayvon had grabbed Zimmerman's gun and shot him, we'd be hearing an argument from his lawyers that Trayvon had the right to defend himself from the creepy guy who was folowing him and scaring him.

He wasn't stalking. He said he was looking for an address. I had a problem with this until I saw the re enactment. It showed he walked beyond the t and was walking back towards his truck. Before seeing this, I could not picture in my mind the way this would have worked.
As a rule, I don't watch Fox news shows. Last night though I did watch Great van Susteren last night cause she's in the courtroom all day. She had a very good interview with one of GZ's neighbors. She also stated the subdivision is very confusing.

No, what? He didn't say he was pressured into it? What did he say then?

And it goes without saying most of this is opinion. Even the stuff that appears "pretty clear" to you.

And lying about not going to a funeral to spare people's feelings is the epitome of a little white lie.

Lying by omission about TM's racial slur was the problem I had. It helped perpetuate that GZ is a racist.
BTW, also on Greta's show last night, Benjamin Crump, started up the race issue. Kind of sad after he jumped up and said this is not about race when Rachel testified. He said if Trayvon had shot Zimmerman, he would automatically would have been arrested because he's "black".

You know and I know that pressure can be brought on police depts. to either push a case or dismiss a case.

I'm going for Jose Baez, the state actually had a decent case, the most sympathetic victim ever. A horrible mother as a defendant, and still got an acquittal.

This case us a cakewalk for the defense.

But that doesn't matter.

He could have no injuries and still claim self defense. That's the biggest problem they have in this case - they have to convince the jury that GZ was not fearing for his life. That's pretty hard to do. They'd be better getting people to testify about his demeanor and that his actions immediately after did not reflect someone who was fearing for his life. Really, the injuries are fairly meaningless.
