Try looking on Tour guide mike for the answer :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Good idea! I'll post it on the AVP forums and I'm sure I'll get an answer very quickly. Thanks Yenta.

I'm sorry...I was being sarcastic as there is a thread about TGM that JohnNJ posted to.

I read about George the POTC ghost here on the DIS. He was an employee who died in the building. If the CM's do not say goodmorning and good night to him funny things happen during the day. It is also said that if you call his name 3 timeswhile on the ride by the fire scene (I think that is where he died) strange things will happen and he will let you know of his presence.

There is a lot written about him here. you can do a search and you will find it...very interesting. I think there may be more haunted spots in WDW as well. I doubt there will ever be a tour "Haunted Disneyworld" , if there were I would be the first to sign up.

You don't have to...the answer is on these boards....and it's FREE :rotfl2:

I've also heard that if the door behind the dog (in the jail scene) is open, that means George is feeling partcularly prankish. If the door doesn't get closed soon, the ride will break down.

Here is a cool site, www.theshadowlands.net

click on the sword in the stone to enter then scroll down and click on ghosts and hauntings then scroll down on the next page and click on haunted places index...then to florida then scroll down to Orlando and there is a story about Geroge.

The site is really interesting. Halloween is right around the corner! Look up your area and see if theres any ghost stories.

thanks for the replys. i'm a little sceptical and a little superstitious, not sure i'm brave enough to try it - anyone actually called for george. besides like i said, if nothing happens i'll feel a bit of a fool. the chances are that none else in our boat will know who george is

I've been on PotC alone...and I mean...alone, no one in the two boats behind me, no one on the two boats in front of me.

And I'll tell you, I did close my eyes during the pitch black drop hoping George wouldn't mess with me.

I didn't dare call for him...not normally superstitious, but then again don't wanna take my chances either. ;)

I can confirm that the "good morning george" is definately on the offical CM opening checklist (though I don't believe the good night is on the closing one - though some CM's say it anyway).

N.E.D.

One really good use for loud little 5 yr old boys........I'll tell my DS to do it while we're there in Oct!:rotfl2:
No one will think it's too strange for him to do it--if they aren't aware of the story, they won't even pay attention!

pirate: oooh you are brave. i only learnt about george couple of days ago on another thread. if i knew about him, i wouldn't go on alone...............
we're going in oct. my dh doesn't believe in this sort of things so i won't bother telling him, he'd probably just say it to try and prove a point. might see if CM has got any stories about when people have done it!!

I've ridden POTC numerous times, and I have never heard anyone call for George. I think that if you do yell for him, you'd be the only one.

I scrolled down even further and found about a ghost at ToT and about a little girl ghost on SSE.

Ok I need to quit reading that site I'm freaking myself out. LOL

I read about George on the Dis boards and told my kids. DD is a teen so she is above doing anything fun that might possibly embarrass her in front of people she will never see again.lol
We went in January and my DS, who is 9, was game to try. We did yell it. It was actually loud enough in there I doubt most heard us. The boat stopped for a few seconds before we left the room. DS likes to say it wasn't really George, but he is never totally convincing when he says it. I always love a good ghost story, so this was a fun thing to try.

There was a thread going on the boards about a year ago on this topic. There were a few people who said that they had called out George three times and the boat stopped for a while. :scared1:

Rumor has it that you have to yell it in a certain spot (when everything is on fire?). :confused3

We did it in the room that had the fire. DS tries to say it stopped because they had someone boarding slowly or some such, but I love that there is just that little bit of doubt that he has in his voice.
Me, I like to think it was George.

<-----foolishmortal, like dark rides...lol

I have to try this!!!!!

No what do I have to say and how many times.

Do I just say GEORGE GEORGE GEORGE

Or do I have to say the whole thing "I don't believe in you George"???

Thanks
