george the ghost

We just said George 3 times. I will do it again the next time we go. I hope George stops us again so I can see the look on DS's face.lol

See, I've never believed in ghosts, but I do know that there are cameras w/ mics throughout most of the rides in WDW for safety reasons...I would just assume it's a CM pulling your leg. But again, I'm a big skeptic when it comes to ghosts and ghouls.

I will be there in 2 weeks (week of labor day), and will report what happens, if anything.

I have to try this!!!!!

No what do I have to say and how many times.

Do I just say GEORGE GEORGE GEORGE

Or do I have to say the whole thing "I don't believe in you George"???

Thanks

Don't piss the poor guy off now...he is dead afterall :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My DH and I had a George moment last year. We went on POTC first thing. There was absolutely NO body else on the ride except for us. Right before the first dip when the ride is completely dark, I saw a swirling light in front of us, it was like 3D. I have been going on this ride since it opened (and go every year and ride it at least 3 times) and never recall any lights.
I was scared for sure ...it felt very eerie.

I am sure WDW is full of ghosts...just think of how many people pass away there nad how many people make WDW their last trip.

There maybe another dimension to WDW. After park closing, there may be CM's, Guests that are long gone still visiting their favorite place... ;)

Now that is such a cool idea for a tour. WDW after hours Haunted Tour of the MK. They do haunted tours in Williamsburg. We went on one and it was so spooky. We were in Colonial Williamsburg and it was DARK. We were looking at this house and there was one candle lit on the first floor. All of a sudden the candle on the first floor went out the the candle on the second floor lit up instantaneously. Spooked me for sure!

But the George story is intriguing. I bet I can get DH to yell for George on our next trip. I'll post what happens.

Does anyone know of any other ghostly stories at WDW???

Actually, come to think of it, I believe there was some sort of a ghosts or haunted tour in DL. They had a couple of previews but I don't think anything came of it. It was an after hours tour for sure though. Anybody with more info, feel free to elaborate since I never actually got to go on that tour :guilty:

I am going to get my son to yell it, he loves doing stupid stuff and then people will look at him not me as I crack up laughing......

Not only is there a George at Pirates, but there is also a George at Tower. It is supposedly the ghost of a bellhop that was testing the ride before it opened. Probably isn't true, yet still pretty cool.

I think it's a little girl at tower. Go visit the site that I listed above, it has a few stories from WDW...

I'm sure the tour was about made up ghost stories and such. Disney will never talk about people who died in their parks, on stage. That would completely ruin the atmosphere of safety that they've taken such pains to present (Safety IS the first of the four keys to the Kingdom).

I can imagine a backstage tour that might meantion those things, but they'd never say them on-stage (on-stage, the tour guide has to say that there's only one Mickey in MK, instead of the seven that they normally have in the park).

My friends and I are going to try to summon George when we ride Pirates next month! I'm fascinated by ghosts, and while I'm skeptical about the whole George thing, it is pretty cool to think of ""haunted WDW". I'll let you guys know what happens...

I will have to laet my DS know about George also and see what happens !!

I am sure there are plenty of spirits in WDW, thye might be CM and Guests that dies there. In very recent years there have been some accidents: The man that died on Splash Mountain when he went to get off the ride, the CM that died in costume during the parade due to a float malfunction....

I'm sure there are more that I can't recall at the time. You will never see a Ghost Tour like that at WDW that would be admitting that people actually diee there! I am sure the parks are full of spirits.

My husband and I have been in the MK at night (remember E-ride nights!) a few times we were the only ones on Main Street and it is creepy. We were there before Thanksgiving, so the crowds were low and E ride was empty. The MK was deserted and most times we were the only ones walking around and we did not like it at all. One time we left and we were the only ones on the entire monorail.

If you think about it though, if you were a ghost wouldn't you want to be in WDW :rotfl:

I knew about George when I went in June with a large group of friends. A few of us yelled for George. Everyone in our boat was very interested in the story and a few people asked the CM when we got off the boat. Nothing happened to us, but the CM was very knowledgable about the story. I will be back in November and do it again. Maybe George will hear me this time! pirate:

Oh man. This is great. I am going to have to try this in Oct. when we go. Also, going to call my cousin. He used to work at the POTC.
