I just got a small George Foreman grill and so far I have managed to burn 4 hamburger patties and 3 chicken breasts. They all burn where the meat contacts the griddle and the burning occurs even before the meat gets cookin' good.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Anyone have any good recipes to try on it?

Thanks for your help!

I haven't had much trouble with things burning in mine. Mine is the medium sized grill. Her are some recipes we've tried and liked:
Lemon Pepper Rub (Fish or poultry- We like it on turkey breast)
2 tsp. lemon pepper
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. fresh rosemary, minced (I use dried)
1Tablespoon dill, finely minced
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black peper
2 cloves garlic, finely minced

Sage Stuffed Chicken Breasts
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 c. Stove Top Stuffing, prepared and cooled
2 T. onion, finely chopped
1 tsp. ground sage
1/2 tsp. dried rosemary
Cut a pocket into the side of each chicken breast. In a medium bowl toss together the stuffing mix, oinion, sage and rosemary.
Stuff one-fourth of the dressing in each chicken breast and press the edges of the chicken together to close pocket. Lightly coat grill with cooking spray and preheat for 5 minutes. Grill the stuffed chicken for 7-9 minutes or until fully cooked and stuffing is warm.

And here's a spicy one for pork chops:
Italian Pork Rub
1/2 t. black pepper
1/2 t. cayenne pepper
1/4 cup paprika
2 t. dried oregano
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 t. salt
Combine ingreients, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
Rub needed amount on pork chops and grill.

This one sounded so "different" we had to try it and we loved it!
East Indian Marinade (Beef, lamb or chicken)
1 t. fresh mint, finely chopped
1/4 t. salt
1 t. black pepper
1/4 c. onion, finely chopped
1 T. parsley, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 c. unflavored, lowfat yogurt
1/2 c. cucumber, chopped
1/2 c. red tomato, chopped
Combine all ingredients, marinade meat for several hours and grill.

Hi, I have a medium size as well and I do frozen hamburgers on it. I like them well done so I put it on for ten minutes and these are a good size burger and they are cooked perfect. DH does'nt like it so unfortunately I don't get to use it much. But I think I'm going to try the posted recipes here, they sound great.

boneless chicken breasts and then put them on for the time specified and they come out delicious....thanks for these recipes

My grill works fine! Just wondered whether you were unlucky enough to have one which has a faulty thermostat inside? Worth checking. They keep switching on and off throughout the cooking to keep the correct temperature. Could be your's is faulty. I would take it back to the store and ask for a replacement.

Ann.

Thaks for your help, y'all. I will definitely try the recipes and possibly take the unit back. It has gotten better, but it still sears the meat a little more than I'd like.

I knew I could count on the people here!

I was thinking about when I first got mine, and your meat might be too think. I often have to pound on the chicken to get it to fit right in the grill.

Just another option. :)
