Genuine or a scam??

My husband and I always buy our Disney tickets before we go and are always approached at some point of our holiday by people asking if we need Disney tickets or if we want to sell ours!

Has anyone used tickets bought from these people (usually in stalls along I-Drive) and if so, were they ok?

Or would you advise us to avoid buying or selling back to them?

Personally would stay well clear and would only buy from reputable sources, some ticket sales like this can be linked to timeshare organisations but irrespective of that I wouldn't entertain going anywhere near them.

I have to echo what Johnny said. I would only buy from a reputable company or one recommended here. I certainly would not sell an used ticket on as it cannot be used by anyone else.

Seriously, at best you are buying pre-owed tickets which as Disney tickets are non-transferable would be breaking the terms of purchase. At worse you could get a worthless piece of paper with no days left.

Best avoided I think.

we used to sell our unused portions of tickets years ago to man at the booth in Mcdonalds, we also bought a cheaper day pass which to be honest did work but we had to lie and cheat our way in as the fingerprint recognition system did not recognise the prints, that was a while back and i would not do it again. It is too stressfull and they are less likely to let you in without the print and without correct id nowadays
Just buy from reputable dealers is my advice

been there done that and brought the tee-shirt. Unless you want to spend 3 to 4 hours in a timeshare meeting i would'nt get them. There no such thing as a cheap ticket, theres always a catch.

On our first visit to Orlando we got talking to a rep in our hotel, who persuaded us to go and have a look around at a brand new hotel, with the promise of $200 disney dollars for a 30 minute tour. They provided the transportation and off we went, when we got there my niece was put in a playroom with the other children, and we went into another room. We sat around at a table for an hour before someone came to speak to us. They tried every angle to get us to sign on the dotted line without success.

We got fedup after 2 hours and said we was'nt interested, and it was like talking to a brick wall. They sent over all these different people to speak to us even the manager and we still said no, we wanted to leave and get our disney dollars. In the end we got up and went to collect my niece, and asked them to show us where to get our dollars. When we went to the office the lady over the counter only wanted to give us $75, when we show her the paperwork given to us by the rep at the hotel, which clearly stated we would be paid $200 for attending she wanted to grab it from us, and said it was'nt valid. Then my sister threaten them with the police if they did'nt give us what we were entitled to, she made a phone call to the manager then paid up. Never again will I ever go through anything like that again.

MY advice is to stay away.

Not worth the risk for buying, I guess if you are selling and they give cash thats upto you, they will sell on your tickets that should not be used by someone else.
I was stung on Ebay with Disney Quest tix a few years back. From a seller with good feedback, already used, paypal were not interested in getting involved.

Thanks everyone, your advice has most definitely been taken!!

We wouldnt waste 2 hours of our hol at a meeting for cheap tickets anyway, let alone 4 hours plus!! Would rather pay full price and use them hours in the parks!

Probably wouldnt have done it knowing us, you just wonder about it when u see the prices and the sales reps trying to get you to buy!!

To be honest, we are just going through all ticket options at the mo, its usually straight forward 14 day Ultimate ticket but now that we are getting into Orlando holidays at every given opportunity, we would have liked to have kept the ticket costs to a minimum......nevermind, full price it is, the magic is worth every penny!!

If you are going more than once in a year it would be worth looking at getting Annual Passes. Can save a few pennies that way!

i would agree,looking at the 2 countdowns,its got to be worth,having a look at.don't they get free parking as well,which can be a good saving,in itself!

My mum sold our old ones to someone on I-drive in 2002 but knowing what I do now I wouldn't do it, sure it's a bit of extra cash but it's also supporting the scammers who sell them on.
