Genie question

I am boarding flight and don’t have time to research. When we visited in March I was able to switch my park to the park we planned to hop at 2 to get genie reservations for rides. When I tried to do that this morning it wouldn’t let me pick the park because we didn’t have reservations. Example I wanted to get Epcot roses tonight but we plan to do magic kingdom when we arrive. Do I need to check into Magic before I can switch the parks to get Fastpasses at Epcot? Thank you. I hope this makes sense lol

If I understand your question correctly, you should not have to switch park reservations in order to reserve Lightning Lanes at a different park later in the day, if you have a hopper ticket. Maybe check that you have the right ticket linked?

Agreed - you should be able to make ILL and/or G+ reservations at a park other than your primary park reservation for the day. It just won't allow you to make a reservation prior to 2PM in the 'hop to' park.
