Genie+ / ILL / Virtual Que Strategy

I could use some help. I’m kinda in charge of making Genie+/ILL/VQ by myself for my party of 4 and need help prioritizing.

If I have my phone and my wife’s phone open and ready at 6:55am (staying on property) what is the ideal priority for both MK and DHS when it hits 7am?

MK: do Tron VQ first or genie+ for popular rides?

For DHS: do Rise ILL first or Genie+ for SDD?

Said another way, what books up first?

We are going in two days! MK Thursday and DHS Friday

Its all about speed of your fingers IMHO. I was 1 second late trying out for Tron because I forgot I had my VPN on and it was full by a couple thousand people at that point. I did try again at the 1pm window, got it for Tron and had a time of 9:30pm. Took another hour on line before I got on the ride. Actually it was more fun at night with all the lights on. But a word of advice, don't lean down on the motorcycle all the way because it will lock you down and you can barely see anything.

Wait for lunchtime and then go on the ride at HS. Wont need Genie+ if you time it right.

You need to do Tron first, because the VQ spots can be gone in a split second. Even with one eye on the World Clock to catch 7:00am (and 6:00pm, on the night we had extra evening hours at MK) on the dot last week, I missed out on a Tron VQ one of the three times I attempted it. The other two times, I got Boarding Group 3, and Boarding Group 58, respectively, even though I did exactly the same thing at exactly the same speed every time. Go figure!

Second priority is Slinky G+.

After that is whatever ILLs you're buying, although if you're willing to get to the parks before rope drop, you should be able to knock those out without paying extra. We arrived at HS last week about 45 minutes before early entry (*they'll usually start letting people into Rise, and only Rise, 15-30 minutes before early entry is slated to begin, if the line gets long enough!), and waited no more than 15 minutes for it. Of course, if Rise is broken down at park opening, which it is about once every 4 days, you have to be ready to call an audible and go somewhere else (or buy an ILL for it, which should still be available at that point).

Thanks all! That is super helpful. Another question, did you find turning off wifi helped? And would do advise trying it at 7am in your room or go to the main lobby?

I had no problem in my room, I can't remember if I was on wifi or data though.

Was on wifi in my room. No issues

When I was there a few weeks back at POFQ, I used wifi in my resort room. I did a speed test and wifi was A LOT faster than network for me.

I will say, right now this time of year, the G+ don't go that fast but VQ still does. I don't know when you're going but when I booked my G+ times, there were times that I had to wait 5-10 min for the return times to get a bit later since we didn't arrive at the parks very early.

Yes. Say your first G+ is at 9:30am, then you can select your 2nd G+ as soon as you tap in. Just an FYI, there is no G+ booking for the 30 min during early theme park entry so if the park opens to resort guests at 8:30am, the first potential G+ time you can get is 9am or later.

The G+ booking rule is 2 hours after the park opens to the public/since last G+ booking selection OR as soon as you tap into a G+LL, you can select your next LL and the cycle continues. So long as you understand the basic booking rules, selecting your party, when to purchase and how to purchase, you can't really mess anything up since the system won't let you book if you aren't eligible.
