"Generic" Mugs

Hope we can use the same mugs at all resorts. More value for money. We r doing CS at many resorts!!!1

I'm also curious which resorts have the new mugs. So far I have only heard about:

SSR
OKW
POP

Can anyone confirm other resorts as well?:confused3

The All Star resorts have them also.

I wonder if CBR is going to get the generic ones? We have generic mugs from our last trip to ASMu. They just say Walt Disney World, Fall 1997 and have Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, etc on them. I was hoping to get a mug with the resort name this time.

So,........would it be bad if you brought back a mug you bought on a prevous trip to use? :rolleyes1
I've never done it.........(before I get flamed) but we are staying @ POP once again and we already have 4 mugs!!!!!
This is just a thought. I HAVE seen other people bring in mugs from other resorts and used them and nothing has been said.
I know, I know ............just shut up and buy another one right?!
:)

It is Disney policy to buy a new refillable mug each trip.

Here is a photo of a sign at Pop which spells out the rules of the refill mug:

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

I like this idea much better than having to get a new mug when staying at the same resort two or more times. Plus, we're thinking of staying at two different resorts on our next trip, so that will take care of that issue. And while it's nice to have something with your resort name/logo on it, it doesn't have to be a mug. There are plenty of things that have the resort logos on them! I love the idea of having a new themed WDW mug each year!! I hope this is what they are doing!!! :thumbsup2

I'm wondering the same thing!!! When we went in March the new ones weren't out yet. We still have the same old ones from POR. We actually didn't use ours this year. Kinda a waste of money but my old one broke so I at least have a new mug to go to work with every morning. When we return next March will they be the same or are they changing the design on them to stop all the repeats on them???

Is the generic mug only for the YOAMD celebration and when its over the will return to the regular resort mugs.

Once the YOAMD is over they will either change the design to a new 2008 mug or go back to a resort mug.

My guess is this is a test run and that the old resort mugs will all be changed with the new Disney promotion and the year posted on them.

It might cut down on the numbers of guests trying to use old refill mugs.

JMHO

Is it within the rules that you could use the same mug on split-stay with the generic mugs? We'll be at both VWL and Pop next month and it wouldn't pay for us unless we could use it at both places.

Thanks!

In theory it would be nice, but I can't imagine us carrying our mugs all day at the parks.

We, on the other hand, would definitely do this. We purchased refillable cups at our local Carowinds theme park last year, and used them all season. They are HUGE plastic cups with a lid and flexible straw. The initial purchase was only about $7, I think, but it's $1.50 to refill it -- not free, but still a LOT cheaper than buying drinks at full price all day. We have two of these cups, and on a typical day during the summer (we generally only go to the waterparks during summer months), I think we refilled each cup twice. DH and I shared one, and the kids shared one.

I too, would love it if you could use it in the park, heck I would even buy a different one for the park if it meant cheaper drinks all day. Even evironmentally it would be better, less garbage.
