I think this is a good move. Unlike some, I really like Dave, but I do think he's more of a creative than a business-guy. Splitting duty keeps him in creative witht he juice to see his visions through. I don't know much about Lynwen, but she's been with Lucasfilm for a while, so that's good.

I am happy. KK had a tough task, but there is no denying that SW, and Indy, and Willow greatly faltered under her leadership. On top of that the constant issues with directors and production cost overruns plagued her time in the big chair. I don’t know for certain that it will get better at Lucasfilm, but it would be difficult for the new duo to do worse imho.

I will never forgive KK for what she did to Luke Skywalker, my childhood hero.

Lucasfilm later denied that Filoni disliked Andor and he's talked pretty glowingly about the series previously. I think Filoni's issue was it rewriting his canon by having Mon give her speech in the Senate and then the later one on the Ghost. Gilroy tried to stay correct with existing canon but that was one he just pushed past because it benefitted the story better which I agree with.

We'll find out fairly soon what direction works for Lucasfilm. If Mando & Grogu isn't a massive hit, the Filoni verse is pretty much done as a viable commodity. I know he had dreams of an Avengers type movie with all his characters meeting up and taking on Thrawn but that's on the backburner now, I'd imagine with its prospects riding on whether people come back out for his movie.

I thought about getting into it, but unfortunately don't really have a group to play with. I would maybe see if there is an active player community near you - check out local card/games/comic shops.

I just found this - Karabast. It's an online simulator for Star Wars Unlimited so you could get started to learn the game and play against others online.

Which is ironic considering Filoni has ignored canon before, too.

The thing about canon for a property that becomes long-lived and sprawling is that it has to be mutable. Obviously the major stuff should stay intact, but minor changes are inevetible. It's best when they make it work, but sometimes it will serve the story better to just move forward anyway, and sometimes they may just miss it too. I mean, there is just so much content! I know Dave and Pablo are like living Wookiepedias and all, but even they can't know everything.

Agreed Brian, but some stuff should have never occurred:

- making the lightsaber less lethal in all the Disney stuff is foolish. How many people were skewered and then lived?

- Luke as a grumpy old man was out of character and foolish.

- Luke dying from “forcing too hard” was foolish

- Leia flying like Mary Poppins was foolish

- The Holdo maneuver was foolish and cannon breaking

- The mod squad looking like power rangers was foolish

I hope Dave has the courage to raise his hand and say, “no we aren’t doing that and here is why”. My biggest frustration with KK was she refused to do that. Either she didn’t know better or didn’t care and both are horrible traits for a Lucasfilm leader IMO.


I have my concerns with Filoni too, as he is far from perfect. He however does understand the lore, which I think KK lacked.

Well, I think it's a bit overblown. Dave may have had concerns, but I don't know if he ever "disliked" it or anything. He probably just wanted to make sure it wasn't steamrolled.
