General Question

Do you think that WD would be open to opening up a kosher restaurant?
Instead of the airplane packaged meals they serve?
Even just a small tiny kiosk at least something fresh?
Who would i contact?

I know Crystal Palace will serve your food kosher - saw a family there in Aug
I think any of them as long as they have advance notice

I think most table service places can serve kosher food. The counter service will probably just do the prepackaged stuff. As for a separate place, probably not since the demand is probably low compared to the demand of the other food.

Cosmic Rays has a big selection of Kosher food but dont know whether this is all prepackaged stuff or not.

I think when you make your ADR's you can request Kosher food. I have to request gluten free food. I just have it noted on my ressie and then when I get to the restuaruant I remind them. A Chef will usually come out and talk to me about what I can eat or he/she can make for me. I don't know if they do this for Kosher requests. Sorry I am not that familar with what is considered Kosher foods, I do know that alot of Kosher foods are also deemed gluten free which is good for me.

Technically, to be Kosher (Glatt Kosher) it has to be prepared in a Kosher kitchen.....as in, the pans/utensils can never have touched pork or milk or meat. So, unless Disney plan to build a Kosher kitchen, then no. That is why they are pre-packaged.

If you don't need Glatt Kosher, then you can just order non-pork items. That is what we do. (I've always figured, hey, the pans and utensils get washed in really hot water, so there isn't any pork residue left, but that is why Orthodox families have two sinks, two sets of dishes, etc)

Thanks for explaining that, I always wondered what it meant. I guess it is just a concidence that some of the foods I can eat are Kosher. They do have to cook my food in a clean area,( wirh cleans untensils, pans,etc) but I don't think that is is totally free from ever touching the items you mentioned.

1) In a Kosher kitchen, utensils and appliances can touch dairy and meat.
2) But, they should be segregated from non-meat and non-dairy preparation.
3) I some kitchens, appliances can serve kosher and non-kosher utensils.
4) There is far more to it than this, of course.
5) Including "certificiation" and periodic inspections.
6) For the OP, I don't see Disney doing a Kosher eatery.
7) There is simply not the large scale support.


NOTE: We make bio-diesel fuel, but we create and sell Kosher industrial products (yes, there are Kosher items that are not food-related nor digestible) and undergo certification inspections monthly. We also keep a Kosher laboratory for product testing.

I went to Disney with my best friend and her husband- two orthodox Jews.

I'm Jewish but not Orthodox (but I know the laws).

We didn't separate for meals- I always ate with them what they were eating (I wouldn't do that to them although they wouldn't care). We ate tons of ice cream (Edey's is Kosher although the cones aren't and so are the Mickey Bars...). I think that you can get pizza somewhere (pizzafari possibly). There are offsite restaurants nearby as well that are Kosher (I can get you names).

We brought sandwhiches and snacks with us every day into the parks and just made due. A kosher restaurant would be nice (counter service) but I bet even just doing a vegan counter service would "satisfy" a portion of the same population as well as many others.
