General question about Disney's Fastpass service

I just have a question about Disney Fastpass system & a hypothetical situation when using it. I know if you want a Fastpass you use the ticket that you got into the park with & after you get it, the pass may say can not get another one until a certin time. Well I was wondering what if someone had Disney park tickets which had never been used on them & tried to use them to get a Fastpass, would they work? Or would the Fastpass machine know that the ticket was not used to get in the park, so no Fastpass would come out.

For the record I have never tried this & don't ever plan to, so it's just a question I had on my mind

you cannot use them for fast passes if the ticket did not go through the turnstyle.

We know this, cause in August we had went to mgm to pick something up turned around and went to mk directly. Our AP's would not work at the mk turnstyle. They asked if we had been to another park, told them yes, shortly left mgm after a few minutes. They said it had to be over a longer period of time, and just let us through without using the turnstyle. Well go to a fast pass machine and it say does not recognize as proper admission ticket? Asked the fastpass cm nearby, and he said has to go through turnstyle or it won't work. You have to be authorized there. We had to go back, to main entrance tell them our problem and the cm finally did something to get us in the proper way. He had to push some buttons on the turnstyle to let us in. Hope this makes sense.
