General Public discount for BLT 2013?

This year was our first trip to WDW with our children. We went in May and stayed in BTL, 1 bedroom villa. As I recall, we used a GP discount that was 5% off the rack rate. Not a lot, but saved us some. I noticed that for the current fall 2012 GP discount, BLT is not included in the discounted list at all. Do any of you recall if BLT is generally included or not included in GP discounts, and if so, what is the historic % off of a villa? Checked on the mousesavers site, but I couldn't find this type of detail. It seems that sometimes the deluxes, and especially the villas, are on the higher % discont versus values and mods, but this year (May 2012), ours was only 5% off, and I think the GP discount for the vaules and mods was higher? We are planning to return to BLT in 5/13, so trying to see if any discounts might turn up (still praying on a military discount to become available for villas at BLT, but so far only luck there has been on the studio).

Discounts are released to fill empty rooms really. Disney has no trouble filling BLT so it's usually on the lower percentage scale if it's even offered at all. I don't think Disney owns many BLT villas for cash reservations to begin with most belonging to DVC.

Have you considered renting DVC points? You will save a lot more than 5% that way. The downside is you have to be firm with your dates and pay up front. It might be a little late to get BLT but you could try. There might be a company that lets you pay 50% up front then the remainder I think 60 days prior but I can't remember which one it was.

You will get the biggest percentage at Saratona Springs or Old Key West for the villas. Not nearly as convenient as BLT but not as $$ either.

We just booked a 1 bedroom at BLT for Feb last week through AAA. I think our discount was 15%. If FD comes out, we'll apply that to our package instead as that is a slightly bigger savings for us (family of 5 but one of the kiddos is under 3).
