General excursion question

When the time is listed on the website for the excursion, for example, 8:15-1:15pm, what does that mean? Are we meeting at 8:15am or do they plan on having you at the excursion at 8:15am meaning you need to meet on the boat prior to that? Also, the end time, is that the time the excursion is over or the time they have you back to the boat?
