I am looking for general help from the experts but this is not particularly Disney related. We love FW and I love lurking on this board and I am hoping someone might have some advice for me. We are going to buy (I'm pretty sure) a business in MO. It has some RV and tent sites but the public bath rooms are awful (in my opinion). I have seen FW facilities but am looking for photos and/or advice on how to make these better - probably not shooting for Disney standards right out of the gate... Do showers get used a lot - these are generally shorter stays? I ask because the whole thing is so small and badly lit. But to make it bigger without really going to town you would have to go from two shower stalls to one. So are two cramped showers better than one spacious one?

I hope it's OK to ask a question like this. We're really excited about the possibility of doing this but this particular part is not an area of our expertise. Any and all advice appreciated!

I thought there were pics on the Dis of the Fort RR's.The showers are not real big . There are 4 in the mens room 1 Handicap and 3 smaller ones. The building is very well lit and it is almost always cleaner than the bathrooms in my house! As for your showers I think the privet showers are what I vote for.

A lot of campgrounds are now going from the larger bathroom/bath house buildings to invidual bathrooms with a shower stall. It has a lot more privacy and is great for family use (mom giving kids their baths).

I was at one campground that the restrooms where obviously separate, but all the shower stalls were individual with a locked door and in a common area.

I think this would make the shower situation more flexible.

As for what to do for your campground purchase its more of a remodel type thing. If you think more shower stalls are important than you may need to either add on or tear down the building you may get into the "while your at it"s with this remodel.

We camped at a campground that had a setup like this and LOVED the privacy. There is nothing worse than being all soaped up and having a toddler boy peek in at you under the curtain or door. I know it is harmless at that age, but it is still shocking to suddenly see that face peering up at you... :scared1:

The place where we have a seasonal campsite has showers similar to those above. You walk into the bathhouse and on the left are probably about 8 showers with dressing room and shower stall with locked doors. Anyone can use them. On the left side are mens rooms and womens restrooms. This bathhouse is one of cleanest i have ever seen next to Disney. I do like the privacy as well.

Look,,I don't appreciate being referred to as a "toddler",,,
I swear I won't do it again. Ssseeeeessshhh ! One little peek and everyone thinks yer a perv !

As for size, is it bigger than the RV shower? Can I get two people in it? Me and a kid? The latter is not 100% necessary, but I don't want to touch the shower curtains or shower walls when I am getting clean.

Locking doors, that's way over rated, who is to keep the peeper from looking over the top if they really want to?

I am from MO - Show Me - Cleanliness will go way farther in building repeat customers and reputation than size of the stall.

Thanks so much for the insight. If anyone knows where I can find photos of different set-ups I'd love to know. I'm not finding lots of bathroom photos on-line - go figure!

I agree clean is key!!

You must have posted this as I was posting to Bill!!!

:lmao:

(BTW - it isn't peeping when you open the shower curtain on Denise. You may have scared her, but it isn't pervy!)
