I also thought of CO2 poisoning.

I had to look him up on IMDB. His name was very familiar, but I wasn't sure if I'd seen any of his movies. He was in The Birdcage with Robin Williams. I love that movie. And being an 80s kid, I've of course seen Superman and Superman II. I know my parents have Hoosiers on VHS.

I wonder if she passed of a heart attack or something and he was unable to care for himself and also passed. I just read an article that showed the last public photo of them out, which was a year ago and he was 94 then. And he needed her assistance and a cane to walk. So maybe he was bed ridden at this point, for the past year, and she passed away of natural causes and that left him unattended. Wonder how long they'd been gone? Guessing long enough for the poor doggy to also not get care (food and water).

Just read an article that said there was no evidence of carbon monoxide in the house but it could have been cleared out by the open door. They also said there were no leaks in pipes etc. There was another dog in the house that was alive.
