Gene gave me my Christmas present last Sunday...

His name is Teddy Bear.

I considered a few different names; Baloo, Biko, Rafiki, Boris... and someone didn't seem to like every name, so I picked the name and told them I didn't want to hear any more complaints.

He's just cute as a button and likes to cuddle.

He's only 8 weeks old and he's so tiny that I watch him like a hawk. I haven't slept well all week because he sleeps with us and I'm always checking to make sure that he's okay.

Poor Gene has the patience of a saint. I woke up in the middle of the night last night and couldn't find Teddy. I turned on the bathroom light and the tv to light up the bedroom and I still couldn't find him. I was lifting up the covers and patting down the bed. I even went to the other side of the bed and lifted the coveres off of Gene. I woke Gene up, I'm poking around all frantic, and Gene says, "What are you doing? The kitten is right here, sleeping on my arm." Of course, the kitten was awake by that time and left Gene. Oops.

I'm like Shirley McLaine's character in the beginning of Terms of Endearment.... I wake Teddy up to make sure that he's breathing. I usually tickle his ear until he wiggles it and then I let him go back to sleep.
