Pop Century April 9-12
RPR April 7-12
Buenta Vista Suites April 7-9 (free american breakfast)

...I'm having such a hard time picking which resort(s) to stay!! I am probably just going to do 1 or 2 parks in Disney. Or if we stay at Royal Pacific, we can do the parks anytime (if we buy the 5 Day Consecutive Passes for the price of 2 day parks) after we are done doing my assignment for that day. I don't have to stand in line at the parks if I stay at RPR.

Or I can stay at BVS and have free breakfast, and a little cheaper to stay there too.

So now...I have 3 ressies!! My reason for going to Orlando is to check out Orlando, apartments and schools. I am wondering if I should just stay off-site. What do you guys think?

If your main goal is apartment and school hunting, I'd probably stay offsite. That way you might get a better "feel" for the city. Of course, it's hard to resist staying onsite.:D

If you have a car does it matter? You can hop on the highway either way, right? Money wise off site is cheaper I think. But if you are moving so close will you ever stay onsite again or at the least very often?

If you're going down there for business and not pleasure, I'd stay off site. The temptation would just be too great for me!

I know what you mean...I want to get a better "feel" of what Orlando is about.

I would hope I can stay onsite again! Yeah...I would probably would stay onsite again but not always, maybe when I get a very good deal on the resorts.

I know...I stay onsite...and that's it...I stay in the parks all day and forget about doing my research on apartments/schools.

Ok...Hmmmmm...It does sound like I need to stay off-site huh?! I will save some money if I do stay off-site, and that money saved, I will use when I get ready to move.

Thank you guys for your opinions.

booohooo!! I just called and cancelled my favorite-favorite resort...ROYAL PACIFIC!! I can't justify paying $266.49 per night (no discount whatsoever) when I know I should be saving. So I called Buena Vista Suites and confirmed the reservation there for 2 nights. It's $125 per night + free american breakfast. I booked it through DreamUnlimited. :) Ok after 2 nights, we will head out to Pop Century and I am just so excited to try this new resort. Then we will do 1 or maybe 2 parks while we're in Disney.

I sure will miss my South Pacific theme at RPR!!

It still sounds like you're doing a vacation trip. You know that the parks are a good 30-60 minutes away from most of the residential areas in metro Orlando. You should stay in the area where you think you'll be living, which for 90% of Orlando residents is nowhere near the parks. (Yes, I made up that figure). Besides, you can stay somewhere like Extended Stay America for a whole week for what you'll pay for 3 nights at BVS.

Boohooo about the RP....it's my favorite and you cannot BEAT FOTL during Spring Break week!!

Warning, all of Georgia will be there! My son's school is off that week and we usually go that week every year but not this year... :(

My ex boss stayed at the BVS via Dreams last year and truly liked it. Take your time and get the FEEL of the area. I like being offsite myself because I like to visit Orlando, not just the parks. My sister said I know it better than Atlanta!

Check out the subdivisionS and demand good deals on the apartments! Apartments should be running good specials because of the low interest rates on homes. Try to get a month or more free! There are plenty of resential areas near Disney and Universal but consider where you'll be working before considering living too close to the high tourism areas.

Good luck and I wish I WAS GOING!!! WAAAAAAAAAAA!

Thanks guys! Yeah..it does sound like it's a vacation more than a business. Well...I am very quite sure that the leasing office will be closed for Easter so we are heading out to the park that day. And the school will be closed during the weekend so maybe we can also do the park on Saturday as well as on Easter sunday. So I have Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday to do my assignments.

You can bring pictures of FL to Gino's.
Ummmm...yeah Dan...sure why not?! ;) I'll bring the pixs of the apartment complexes and the kids new school! JK! :teeth:

Robin, glad that your boss liked his stay at BVS. And thanks for your well wishes.

My boss is a HER and she has a little one who got his own room, which was one of the reasons she really liked it!

LOL...Oooops! Why did I just assumed that your boss is a HE?! Ok...I meant HER. Good that she liked her stay there. If I wasn't such a Disney freak...then I would just stay off-site for the whole trip in a suite with free breakfast! ::Sigh:: Still thinking about RPR!! ARRGG!! I am going to miss that place! I just love that exotic resort!

I know what you mean! The Royal Pacific is the most incredible place I've ever stayed at and not just because it's beautiful but for the awesome way they treated me last year when I hurt my head on their dock last year! They made me and Michael feel like celebrities!

Again, I'm so jealous that you're getting this wonderful opportunity! I know you'll be sooooo happy there!

God bless you and your adorable babies!

Robinrs

Thank you so much Robin! :) OH MY... They have the best service!! They treated us like Royality! ::Sob::

(Telly talking to herself) ::sniff sniff:: Telly it will be alright. Just think in May, you'll be back to your favorite resort. (patting Telly's own back~ comforting herself)
