Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

I love the shopping pictures. The blue spoon rest did come home with me, along with measuring spoons. I love looking at my spoon rest as I cook. The best part is it is a little bit of Disney that was a good price. My next trip I planned to bring home the measuring cups.

I look forward to the Dis. meet report and breakfast at Crystal Palace.

This came home with me. I collect cookbooks so I really love it.

The cookbook has caught my eye! Wonder how much it is?

I'm not sure on the cookbook. Maybe someone going soon can find out.

I don't remember if we paid this or not but printed on the back of the cookbook is $24.95. I don't remember if it had a sticker with another price on it or not.

We lost each other in World Of Disney too.

I found Jill, but she couldn't find Kay. I stayed in one spot with the girls while Jill went looking for her. While Jill was gone, I saw Kay walk by several aisles away. I called for her, but it was too noisy for her to hear. I saw her go back down the same aisle, but by the time I could gather the girls to try to chase her down, she was out of sight. Jill came back to where I was, and I told her about seeing Kay fly by. Finally, after a good twenty minutes, Jill found her. She went to check out, and she left us all at the end of the counter under strict orders not to move.

Let us remember that I found her but then halfway back to you guys she realized she no longer had her "Ironman" (Buzz Lightyear) for Dylan. We went back to the little boys room and got a new one. She kept saying she knew Dylan liked "Ironman" I would say "Kay that's Buzz" "Oh I know that's what I meant Buzz. He just loves Ironman, I mean Buzz." We get halfway back to you with Buzz now in hand and Kay realizes she has lost her bag - the one containing her wallet, sunglasses, cup, but most importantly her wallet with her ID that she will need to board a plane in less than 48 hours. I finally returned to you and the girls I paid for everybody's stuff and then I left you with strict instructions to stay put while I went to see if the bag was at the information counter. It was. I distinctly remember you asking why you were in trouble because you weren't the one that got lost. Remember the answer "Kay is your crazy friend and now I think I could use a Prozac!" Love ya Mom!

That is HILARIOUS! :lmao: I think I would really enjoy Kay's company!

Love the updates! I just love your shopping pictures so much!!!

My Mum and I def. plan to be at DTD early one day for shopping. We went once for opening during our Mum and Daughter trip in 2008. It was sooooo nice and quiet. Our only regret was not heading to "World of Disney" first - we started at the other end, so by the time we reached WOD it was a bit busier! We did also stop at EOS for an early lunch!!!

Whilst I'm here - can I just say........ 99 DAYS TO GO!!!!

DOUBLE DIGIT DANCE PLEASE!!!!!!

:yay:  :yay:  :yay:  :yay:

Hi guys

Talk about tempting fate!!! The last post I sent at the weekend said

"cant imagine what you went thru as we dont get tornado's over here - we get hurricane force gales sometimes but nothing like you have been thru."

Well we had a tornado hit our biggest city yesterday - small in comparison to yours but 1 person was blown off a construction site and killed and 3 critical and 16 others injured.

Its amazing the damage it caused - it was a Force 2 if that means anything which apparently is not big but boy its made a bit of a mess.

Just had to share that as thought it was rather spooky!!

Love the story about Kaye - she sounds alot of fun.

Lots of cute things I hadn't seen before at the WoD. Those earrings would match my necklace -- hmmm...

Might be a good Mother's Day present. ;)

Love your pictures of WoD. Wow, you got to see the fireworks from your room!

It was nice to be able to sit right in our doorway and watch them. The girls were already in their pajamas, and when they were over, we were right there at their beds. :thumbsup2

I am a terrible shopper at Disney World...I want one (or two) of practically everything!! What a great view of the fireworks from your room, thats awesome!

I always want to bring back so much stuff for other people. I see things my students, friends, or our crew of little boys would like, and I want to get it all. I have lots of things I want to bring back for future parties - like all the cool dishes sets.

Sounds like everyone gets lost in World of Disney. DD and I lost DH and DS and it took AGES to find them. And this was during out most recent (THIRD) trip so we really should have known better!!

We too had stroller problems! We actually got one of those long rope handles from a shopping bag wrapped around the stroller wheel (some poor lady who was waiting and waiting had finally put all of her bags down on the floor and we snagged it when we rolled by) and I was giggling so hard I could barely untangle it!!

DH and DS were MOST annoyed when they finally found us (out at their parked stroller...we decided the best thing to do after 20 mins of searching was to stay in a place they'd be sure to find us eventually) but DD and I had been cheered up considerably by our little TANGLED adventure!!

Loving the TR...can't wait for more and I'm praying for free dining for you for October...I think a MeMom and Me trip with you and Brooklynn would be awesome!!

You know what they say if you get lost in the woods, stay in one place and wait to be found.

I hope we get that October trip, too. Next paycheck, I think I will book the plane tickets down there. If I can do that, I think the deal will be sealed.

That's why those earrings looked familiar!

Disney earrings are an awesome souvenir or gift. ::yes::

I absolutely LOVE your TR! And I have to thank you for all the pictures of the merchandise!!! It's like vicariously shopping!!! Great job!!

Welcome, and thanks!
I enjoy seeing all of the shopping pictures again as I post them. Taking the pictures gives me time to peruse the shops again at home and decide what I really, truly do want to buy on the next trip.

Well, I want one of just about everything from the kitchen stuff! And is that a new cookbook I see?! I haven't seen that one before. I must get it!!

The cookbook could be put on your wedding wish list.

We'll be there Sept 27th-Oc 5th, staying at POP!

We were going for the 40th anniversary, but that got changed. Looks like Brooklynn and I will be going later in the month. There will be a whole crew of DISers there during your dates.

MeMom, what will your October trip dates be? Ours will mostly likely be the 19th-24th or somewhere around there, depending on airfare. I hope we can meet up. I am also praying for free dining for sure! That would totally save me a ton of money!

Ok, I decided I want the spoon rest and the measuring cups after looking at your photos. WoD is awesome but HUGE! I love that Kay told you all not to move. That's what you have to do when you are in such a place. lol!!! I do that with my family, all the time! No one move so I can find you. ha!

What room were you in at Pop to have such a wonderful fireworks view? So, so pretty!

We are scheduled for 15th through 19th. We'll probably have to be at the airport around lunchtime on the 19th. Let us know what time you arrive on the 19th. We'll keep the fingers crossed for free dining! :cheer2:

I finally bought both the measuring spoons and cups this time. I don't use them a lot, because I'm more of a 'pinch of this and plop of that' type cook, but when I do use them, they bring me instant Disney happiness. :wizard:

Actually, it was Jill who placed everyone strategically at the end of the counter under strict orders not to move. She was worn out from chasing Kay, and I was laughing at the whole thing. When she told us to stay there, I laughed and asked why I was in trouble, because I wasn't the one who had gotten lost. Jill said Kay was my crazy friend, so I was in trouble by association. :rotfl:

OOOH -
Wish list:
earrings (Jackie - I want the necklace even more!!)
black and white swirly mickey suitcase
Be Our Guest napkins
cookbook
measuring cups

Thanks!!! I wonder if anything is on sale at Disneyshopping?

How very cool that you could see the fireworks from your room!

I bet you could find at least some of those things on Disneyshopping. :)

I just got these and the matching measuring spoons! I love them!

I WANT THESE SO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How cool!!!! I would have bought like 17 packs of them .

Perfect for a B&B party. :thumbsup2

I love my cups and spoons, too. :goodvibes

It'll be nice if you can see him. The timing always seems to be tricky though

awesome sauce!

My sister hates going in WoD because she hates crowds. She's just about terrified to go in. I would love to win a shopping spree for WoD. Even if I only had less than an hour, I could rack up on plenty of things.

Oooh, yes, winning a World of Disney shopping spree would be awesome! :dance3:

I almost bought that same spoon rest! Such a good deal, isn't it? It might be coming home with me this trip...

The WoD is always a maze - Joe and I have had similar episodes of trying to find each other.

That's what I kept thinking - it was only four bucks.

It's nice to know that other people have 'LOST' stories.

All of those things were very reasonably priced. It's always nice to get a practical, cheap Disney souvenir. :thumbsup2

A rainy Magic Kingdom morning will be coming soon.

This came home with me. I collect cookbooks so I really love it.

I don't remember if we paid this or not but printed on the back of the cookbook is $24.95. I don't remember if it had a sticker with another price on it or not.

Could you maybe take a couple of pictures of the inside to show everyone so they can see how it is set up?

That is HILARIOUS! I think I would really enjoy Kay's company!

You guys don't even know! She's hilarious and has no intention of being funny at all. She's all over the map with stuff. One five minute conversation can include a graham cracker, a green marker, her grandaughter's field trip, laundry, Thanksgiving, a broken watch, and a half bottle of dishwashing liquid. All of those things are somehow related as she hops from one thing to another. Mostly I just get the main idea of the original topic and know she will get back to it toward the end of the conversation. :upsidedow

Congratulations on your double digit countdown!!!

Lesson learned - go to World of Disney early. :)
And lunch at Earl's is always nice.

Sorry to hear of the tornado troubles at your place. It is so sad that people have lost loved ones in all of this. There are still so many missing in Alabama.

Kay is a good girl. I met her when we worked at McDonald's together many years ago. She had her little son, Ricky, and I loved being around him, since I always loved kids. I would keep him for her sometimes when she was working and I wasn't, which helped her not have to pay a babysitter or have one of her brothers watch him. (Half watch him, really, so he was better off hanging out with me.) I actually dated one of her brothers for a very short time. Kay married a guy that also worked with us, and they had three more kids, so she ended up with three boys and a surprise baby, which was a girl. She's a giving, caring person, but life has not always been kind to her. She's a hard, hard worker, and I love seeing her leave it all behind when we go to Disney World. She really does love it now and looks forward to the spring break trips. She knows we laugh at her and with her, and she laughs at herself, too.

Coincidentally, Kay called last night to check on Jill, and we were able to talk about next spring's trip. She's going to start saving now. Jill won't be able to go, because John's parents want to go with them in January or February. We'll do things old lady style, and we'll have fun, but I will miss, miss, miss my girls, and I'll have to train myself not to head to stroller parking when we get off of each ride. :goodvibes

Seems as if you were posting as I was typing.

Great news about a spring trip with Kay on the books! Sorry the girls can't go with you.
You two ladies will have a fun time...laughing and enjoying everything at your own pace.

Thank you pooh'smate for the info on the cookbook!
Very reasonable...I'll put it on my wish list.
Have you made any recipies out of it yet?

I'll have to start a page in my notebook for a possible Dismeet...sunny_stace, disneymoon09, punkin. :cool1:

That could have been a disaster if Kay didn't find her wallet. So wonderful that someone turned it in. :goodvibes

Seems like everyone has lost someone in WoD.
I think we will set a meeting spot incase we get separated again. Good tip! :thumbsup2

BrooklynnsMommy how are you, John and the girls doing?
Do you have power yet? Back to work soon?
I've been thinking about you. :grouphug:

I will try to get some posted today.

Thank you pooh'smate for the info on the cookbook!
Very reasonable...I'll put it on my wish list.
Have you made any recipies out of it yet?

I have made Peanut Butter and Jelly Milk Shake, Memere's French Toast, Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup (well I am making this today), and Creamy Parmesan Mashed Potatoes.

I love the shopping pictures. I bought the measuring cups and spoons last trip and use them almost everyday. Now I just need to pick up the rest, especially the spoon rest and cookbook.

I love your shopping pictures and Jill's "Kay story".

I have that "whole new world" picture frame with a picture of me and my husband and Aladdin and Jasmine in it.:lovestruc Aladdin is my favorite Disney movie.

Thank you pooh'smate for sharing the book with us...seems like it is a hit around here!

I popped in while I eat a little snack here at work and you have made me very hungry.

All of the things you have tried sound great!

I have tried the Cheddar cheese soup at LeCellier and it was sooo goood! :)
Not just saying that because I'm Canadian either. :rotfl:

Gotta go....thanks again! :goodvibes
