I am not usually clued in on the Podcast forum stuff either, but saw the threads today. But, yes, no matter what your home part of the forum is, people should be paying attention because it has the potential to affect all DIS businesses. Spiral into a legal and financial situation where even with the best intentions of the rest of the staff and potential new ownership to avoid disruption to site functionally, could still result in interruptions or worse.

Nothing on the internet lasts forever, so it’s important to sometimes be reminded that you should periodically download and save any post or PM you absolutely don’t want to lose, keep a few real life or social media connections to others, and set up a rally point for the worst case scenario (site ceases to function). I think Internet long timers can remember examples of one day, announcements of pending site closures or domains just stop working.

Thank you for the link. I read through the thread. I had absolutely no idea about any of this. I spend the majority of my time on the Community Board and have never watched a podcast/unplugged thing. My recollection is that guys named Pete and Doc were in charge years ago. Guessing Pete is the same guy being mentioned now.

I love the Dis and would be sorry (very sorry) if it ceased to exist.

Also hoping for peace and justice for any victims.

Well that took me down a rabbit hole. I still have no clue what’s going on. Does anyone have a cliffs notes version ? I’m getting snippets of some really inappropriate stuff but I would like facts before coming to any conclusion.

Basically, among other things Pete is being sued by American Express.it’s public record. The Disboards could go on.

1. Dreams Unlimited and Pete are being sued by American Express for unpaid debts. This is of public record, and can be found in the Orange County, FL Clerk of Court records search

2. Accusations have been made by former podcast staff toward Pete concerning toxic work environment escalating as far as sexual assault.

A day or two ago there were some threads posted and deleted from a former employee, with references to Reddit. I read a bit, but it seemed pretty angry.

Even if the Dis would stop, new boards will take its place.
