How exciting. You will have to take a bahookie pic (or two) to carry on the tradition.

I'm secretly so jealous I can't stand it.

Okay can't let snap have all the glory.

I'm going in April!

Long story -- took a loan from 401k to pay off all bills; living/saving cash only life. Figured this would be a good incentive to stay on the straight and narrow path. Will also double for both my mom and daughter as: birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day, Graduation....

I know some (or many) of you are shaking your heads at my decision, but it really was the best way to put an end to the madness. With rising interests rates from credit card companies, this was the only way to see the light of day. My debt will be fully repaid in 5 years. Wasn't going to happen any othoer way. This time is different from the others -- this time the cards have been cut up, except one with a much lower credit line.

I'm looking forward to finally getting a hold on my finances and being able to learn to be responsible. Also helped that we've put the whole decision about high school behind us. DD is going to public high school. She realized that it's not worth spending $40K on high school, when that money could go toward college. She's still taking the COOP test, and will participate in Student for a Day at the Catholic high school, but unless they give her a huge scholarship, it's not going to happen. And you know what, bless her, she's fine with it. Actually even a little, dare I say, excited about her new adventure!

Anyway, can't add a ticker to my signature because the trip is a surprise for both DD and mom. They will find out on Christmas. Can't wait to see their faces. :dance3: I think, even though it's a graduation present for DD, my mom will be thrilled. She's going through a little health scare right now, so it will give her something to work toward.

Have a great time Princess K!!! It's nobody's business how you pay for your trip, ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it's wonderful what you are doing for your Mom and DD!

I just called Magic Express - i'm so excited. We are staying 4 nights at the Beach Club. :dance3:

PK, you'll get no judgement from me on your finances. The day I'm deemed perfect in all aspects, I'll let you know.

I will be there a month after you, in May. We are probably going to go next October too as I'll still have too many DVC points left from this year. I'm thinking about doing a split stay for that trip too, first part at BCV using our points and the second have at GF, my favorite place to stay.

And PK, hope your mom's health scare is just a scare and nothing more. I just hit my 2 year cancer free anniversary but the scare is always there. WDW is the best place to forget your worries.

Snap, PK, and Pakey, I'm jealous of all of you. You all get to go to Disney World before me and none of you have to take my inlaws.

Don't feel too bad alphabet, we are not going back to WDW for at least three years, maybe more.

DLR, yes!

Snap, PK, and Pakey, I'm jealous of all of you. You all get to go to Disney World before me and none of you have to take my inlaws.

I wouldn't go with my inlaws to the convenience store down the street, let alone a vacation. My sympathies are with you.

OMG, are you going for sainthood or something :scared1:

Let's see, going with DH, our 5 kids, MIL, FIL, SisIL and her DH and 3 kids. Sainthood? No, I think I've proven I'm insane. I hope I'm not committed before next June.

I just called Magic Express - i'm so excited. We are staying 4 nights at the Beach Club. :dance3:

That is my dream trip -- to stay at the Beach Club. I was following a trip report a while back and completely feel in love with the pics. I'd like to go by this time and have The Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream. I've been to the GF for dinner and it was nice, but I just feel too uncomfortable in a place like that; have been to Poly for pics and wasn't impressed, although honestly I did only see a small portion of the main area and the grounds; same with Contemporary, have only seen what is visible from the Monorail. Beach Club is my wish trip and I've never been there.

It's a shame that we all seem to be going a few weeks apart. I really would have like to have met you all in person.

As for Mrs. Kerrie, I do think you are insane. :rotfl: Actually, I think it will be great for the kids to have their cousins to play with, and the adults to be able to have some adult time. Maybe you can get your MIL and FIL to babysit one night? This is one thing I wish I could give to my daughter -- someone her own age to enjoy the trip with. Not only are finances a problem, but the 1 or 2 friends I think would be a good fit personality-wise don't like rides and the 1 or 2 friends who are a good fit ride-wise, I think I would kill. :rotfl:

Pakey, mom's little scare isn't so bad yet. She's had cancer twice already (by the time she was 38). Thankfully she's been cancer free for 27 years. This time it's possible diabetes and she's scared. Can't blame her and I'm thinking this is my warning shot as well. She's working really hard on her diet and exercising, so I think a trip will be a nice little pat on the back for her hard work. I'm also hoping that her losing some weight and watching her diet will keep her from developing diabetes, if she's borderline now. My grandmother had to have triple bypass years ago, and the one thing my grandmother was always afraid of was having her leg amputated. I think this is what's running through my mom's mind right now also. Anyway, any prayers and pixie dust would be much appreciated!

done :thumbsup2

There are good things about going with the inlaws. Its the only way we'd be able to stay at SOG. We don't have to get an extra room cause we can stick 2 in with MIL and FIL. The kids will definitely have a blast with plenty of people to go on rides with them instead of Joe and I doing the parent/child swap thingy. MIL doesn't do many rides, so she'll help with the little ones. It should be a good trip. SisIL and I can clash sometimes, but I guess that's normal with women. :upsidedow I'm really looking forward to going back. :goodvibes As long as I don't get pregnant, it should be great. I've been preggers on every other trip. :sad2:

PK, pixie dust is sent. Diabetes (along with cancer) runs on my mom's side of the family too. It's good to hear that your mom is working so hard to control what she can control.

Beach Club is really nice. We own at BCV and have stayed there often but we've also stayed at Beach Club and Yacht Club. When we go with the family, I love staying in that area because of the pool (and walking into Epcot). But for just my husband and I, we really like GF. But for our trip in May we are staying at AKV and Treehouse Villas. Time to try something new.

I stayed at the Contemporary many years ago and except for how close it is to MK (now our least favorite park since kids are grown), I don't see the appeal. And I absolutely cannot stand the Poly. Shoot daggers at me but I've been to Hawaii several times and the Poly just seems so fake to me.

If my inlaws were going, I still would be miserable even if we were staying in separate hotels. We did go earlier this year with my husband's ex-wife and her husband. Does that count as insane? :rolleyes1

Need to vent:

Boss doesn't want to deal with a situation. Tells me the backstory and tells me to deal with it. I prepare an email with the information given by him and send it. Then get yelled at because he says he didn't say what I said he did.  He has a habit of throwing me under the bus when he doesn't want to deal with a situation. If you don't like the way I deal with it, then you do it. :headache: I don't make things up and put words in his mouth because I KNOW eventually he'll hear about it.

I wish there was a way to yell in computer speak.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Okay, thanks. I'm better now.

So sorry PK. There is nothing worse than a boss throwing an employee under the bus.

And you're right. Either deal with it yourself or live with how your delegate handles it.

Hope the rest of the day goes better. Thank goodness it's Friday (except I have to work tomorrow).
