Gee Whiz - I wish I had the time...

PK, the package arrived today. DD10 is super excited! She loves, loves, loves the little red bag. I think it will be the perfect bag for her at Disney World next June. She's already trying to see where she can fit everything in it. I'm not sure yet if yours will work for me. Right now I still carry half the house around with me, but by next June I should carry less once Bonnie is out of diapers for good. Thank you so much for sending them to us. It was very sweet of you! :flower3:

Very relieved it finally arrived. The bag didn't work for me, that's for sure. :rotfl: One day with that, a water bottle, a mister and a camera hanging around my neck was enough. I really need to learn to travel lighter. Enjoy and I'm glad DD10 is happy!

Now if I could just get Scotlass's postcard to show, I'll be a very, very happy woman.

I haven't really wanted to formally teach her, yet. I figure she has plenty of time for that. Right now, she really seems to enjoy some posters I got her. We lay them on the floor and point out the colors, shapes, and ABCs. She uses the calendar for numbers. I wanted to keep all of her learning geared towards play.

I'm definitely noticing a difference, and I'm happy I finally had the courage to homeschool. I just didn't realize the little ones would want to learn so much already. :goodvibes

I agree completely! DD just ate it up and had fun while she was doing it.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. It went by much faster than I would have ever dreamed!

It's certainly the best decision we've made for our family!

I'm having a bad week. HR is one of the departments that fall under my resonsbility at work and we had to terminate one of the managers here; he'd been here 22 years, ever since finishing school. It was heartbreaking. We did an investigation of an anonymous allegation and never expected it to end up where it did. This guy was one of my favorite people here; he made a stupid decision in an attempt to help one of his long time employees and it was the wrong thing to do, cost him his job. My HR staff are all fairly new and I have to deal with all situations that involve management. No telling how many employees in that same department will lose their job before we are done with this.

Seriously, I don't understand what people are thinking sometimes.

Self pitying whine over; back to your regularly scheduling programming.

That's terrible. I'm sorry you're having a rough time at work, Pakey.

Wow Pakey, that really stinks, especially because you liked him and thought highly of him. One of my best work friends is in HR and we make it a point to avoid many conversations for fear put either of us in an uncomfortable position. Friendship is one thing, but it certainly doesn't pay the bills. Unfortunately, some people assume because we are friends and lunch together daily, that we share certain inside information and that is completely untrue.

We had to get drawing charcoal today. DD2 ended up walking and eating cheerios through Hobby Lobby. I believe she left a Hantzel and Gretel trail of cheerios through the store. I normally try to clean up after them, but I saw some crushed ones that couldn't be picked up. OOPS!!!!

I never talk about HR stuff with anyone except my husband (some of the stories are just too fascinating to keep to myself. :rotfl:). I do not socialize with anyone at work; I learned that painful lesson many years ago when I was still in lower management. I have probably fired 50 people in my career and this one was the worst. MY HR staff is currently firing the line level employee as I type this. The rest of my staff (customer service, accounting, etc) have no idea that any of this is going on.

Kerrie, I think Cheerios should be considered a food group all of their own. They are one of my favorite foods. I would follow that trail!

Pakey, I hope you didn't misunderstand my earlier post. :flower3: When I referred to HR, I was referring my situation and my friend, not that you or anyone in your HR Department did anything inappropriate. I was using that as an analogy for your Manager who helped out an employee. I assume, since he's being fired, he did something inappropriate for a Manager, possibly crossing that management/employee boundary. I'd hate to think I offended you and if I did, I'm sorry.

for those looking at point and shoot cameras, I got a sony cybershot and it has a "fireworks" mode, and "continous" mode, so just point and shoot away. then I just delet the ones that don't work out!!!

great fer Bahookie shots!!!!!!

hehehehhehehee

RUM?

PK, definitely no offense taken, I didn't even read your post that way. Besides, I'm about as thick skinned as they come, lol. I was just responding that I, too, don't cross those lines because I learned that lesson many years ago when I had to terminate someone that considered me a friend.

GP, I'm anxiously awaiting bahookie pics. How do you like that camera btw. I still haven't decided on what I'm going to get but I definitely want one before we go to Las Vegas in 4 weeks.

Hey.....

PK - still no postcard but please dont sweat it....its the thought that counts !! :thumbsup2

Pakey - sorry your havin crappy work days, but my works crappy most day so it could be worst, you could be me !!

Two weeks today and Im in the car headin for the airport baby...:cheer2:

The boy is soooo excited his eczema has broken out round his eyes, his skin is usually ok but it is emotionally reactive and any time he his happy, sad or excited it breaks out !!

Bless my sensitive wee scone.

MNSSHP costumes have just been ordered....do ye want to know.....do ye.....huh....do ye ?

Ok,I'll give ya a clue...

" Who ye gonna call...? "

No way, scotlass, the ghostbusters? I wanna see pics. No just bahookie pics either. Full blown costume pics.

Sorry the scone has had a breakout. Disney brings out everything in us. I'm so excited for you (and jealous).

GHOSTBUSTERS!!!! Awesome, my kids play that all the time. DS even made a blaster thingy with a backpack and a vacuum hose. I definitely NEED to see pics!

Glad we're A-Okay Pakey. :dance3:'

Scotlass: I'm truly sorry. I even asked at MK City Hall desk what the postage was, and put extra on. I mentioned sending a second one, but realized there's no way it would get there in time. So here's my new plan -- I could always send it once you get home and say how much fun it was to meet him. GP's bahookies should be up soon, so then you're know what you're up against and what we expect. :rotfl: Definitely want to see Ghostbusters costumes too! And hopefully DS's skin will clear up (maybe the UV rays from the Florida sunshine will help). Funny how people react different to WDW. Me, it get so excited I feel like I'm gonna pee my pants. :rotfl:

Kerrie: You're kids truly have a fantastic imagination. I wish I had fostered that more in my DD. I think it also comes from having siblings, which DD doesn't have.

Hey, anybody seen C1M lately? Just want to make sure all is okay with her.

GP, git yer bahookies up and ready for viewing. I'm dying to know I wasn't the only nut in WDW. :woohoo:

Well this is just wrong and I think Scotlass should complain when she gets to Disney. Apparently, they've taken her bahookie idea and begun selling merchandise (too bad it's not the back view):

minniebahookie.jpg

:rotfl:

Would anyone really want to drink out of Minnie's butt?

Oh, my, gosh! I'm SO excited! I'm teaching DD4 to read. I expected it to be slow going, I mean she isn't even supposed to start kinder until next year and she's always been rather stubborn. We're on lesson 8 out of a 100 of the curriculum, and she just read mat and sat by herself! I'm amazed. I'm so excited, I had to share. :goodvibes

PK, I've seen those mugs. I think they have Donald Duck, too. I do believe scotlass deserves some compensation. :rotfl2:

Oooh, dipping cookies in a bahookie.

Wait, that sounds like a line from a country/western song.
