Gee Whiz - I wish I had the time...

I am glad that the "Grumpy Pirate rule" of quoting the OP has been followed. :) I'm thinking the op may want to hit the delete button.

Nah - I couldn't be bothered. I said what I said and I meant it. I am simply amazed that one poster in particular spends so much time on these boards just riling up trouble, posting the same thing over and over. I just can't imagine using my free time in such a manner. I still think it's sad, honestly.

I spend time on here when I'm planning trips - I've made friends on our cruise - I get the whole community thing. I'll scan the CB - the first page only - never have time for more than that and usually just skim over and read the first line or two of the first post in a thread. I just don't get the obsessiveness of some posters. It's simply bizarre to me - and I know that many psychologists are studying the effects of internet addiction. I do not think it's normal for someone to spend two to three hours a day posting news articles, stirring up trouble, researching the news articles to post, then posting more posts, responding to posts and having to read all those posts to respond to in the first place.

I don't even have time to read all the responses on this thread - I read the first page and the last page and wow - some of you are just pretty gosh darned thin-skinned and, quite frankly, rude.

Que sera. Carry on. Sorry to have disturbed so many of you with my thoughts. Pretty sad the way those of you on page 1 and page 7 behaved - can't even imagine what happened in between. Wonder if you'd all behave like that in the real world. :sad2:

I don't feel the OP is judging but he needs to realize that some of us HAVE NO LIVES. Yep, that's me. Not much else to do but be here or on LOL cats. :lmao:

Not to be snarky, but you do realize you pretty much implied that anyone who had more than a handful of posts was a tragic loser without friends or family, unlike yourself with your full and rewarding social life. Unfortunately (if that was not your intention), this is the way it was interpreted by the majority of readers. Perhaps, it was not your intention to be so judgmental and superior, but that is the way it was perceived.

OP - I think I know who you're referring to. I won't even open a thread started by this person (if we're thinking of the same one). Just the pure rabble-rousing satisfaction this person gets outta people is amazing.

On the other hand, this is a nice distraction that I have vowed to cut down on. (I don't post nearly as much as I read.) I have a dirty house and work outside of my home only half-time, so my Prime DISing time, in the afternoons, will have to be reprioritized.

To each his (or her) own. Live and let live. (What are some cliches I can use here?!)

And c'mon, OP, you aren't curious enough to check out pages 2 - 6? Maybe over coffee on Sunday morning?

although, if I did, I wouldn't waste it on a message board.

I'm amazed at the number of posts some people make on these boards. I'm lucky if I can get in a half hour of reading every couple of days. I figured out the numbers for one poster and for over five years that poster has written an average of 12 posts a day - that's nuts! That's an average of at least one hour a day spent writing - never mind how much time is spent reading - I just don't get it. Who the heck has that kind of time? And, most of the posts are the same thing over and over.

Anyway - I love the disboards, but golly gee whiz - I just can't imagine having that kind of free time and spending it all online. I have so many friends and family that keep me busy all the time - I guess, if I were alone - I don't know. Seems really sad to spend all one's time on a computer with strangers. But, I guess, to each his own. :confused3

I'm going to start with saying I only read the first post, so I don't know how the thread has turned out.

I have quite some posts because I always get bored at work and have time to read/ post from there.
I don't always post long posts. For example, I participate in the DLP quizzes, and that makes for about 30 "PM sent" posts a month. I sometimes participate on the games board, that adds up some posts.

:lmao: Thanks for a great laugh!

PS I think that Mammoth Crocs make cold weather tolerable! Who ever invented those shoes deserves a Nobel Prize!

I agree. I have cotton candy pink ones and I love them!!

It has been raining all day. I had plenty of time to surf the net and post. On top they is call for snow so that means I do not have go work on Monday and plenty of time to post messages.

It's my 3000 post.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

 CONGRATULATIONS!!

I just read that thread about the woman breastfeeding and talking on her phone while driving. :scared1: :sad2: Just unbelievable.

And she wasn't arrested, just issued a ticket for not having the child properly restrained, because the police didn't actually see it happen, even though she admitted to it.

I am amazed that you took the time to do the math and figure how much one poster spent online...:confused3 - to use your own words,,,, that's nuts! Golly gee whiz I am amazed....:rolleyes1

All one has to do to see what someone's daily average for posts is, is to view that someone's profile.

I don't care how many posts some people make. But I am amazed at some of the daily counts. I know there are some people around 30 posts per day. I guess they type pretty quick. I would have to assume that they folk also post on other boards on the internet so that is what the OP may be curious about.

A lot of people have harsh words when someone asks a simple question like this.
Lighten up!

It was nice meeting everyone last night.
