Gee, I think I'll go to Disney End of Feburary

So I am the resident family Disney expert and my SIL mentioned to me that her sister really wants do a family trip to Disney this year and could I help her out since she's never been and doesn't know ANYTHING about Disney (she's one of those that thinks it's just one park )
So I say "Sure! tell her to call me!" -- I love planning, even if it's not for my own trip!

So today I talked to my SIL and mentioned that I hadn't heard from her sister and did she know when she was thinking of going and my SIL goes "Well, she said they want to go like the last week of Feburary and she was going to give you a call about it next week, after New Year's."

Uh, okkkkkkkkaaaaaayyyy. End of Feburary, with NO plans as of yet and she's thinking she's going to manage to get decent airfare for five and I'm going to get her a hotel deal and ADR's somehow? -- Okey-doke!

I just decided a few days back that we were rebooking our cancelled December trip for the last week of February (26th thru March 5th), and had no problem getting what we wanted (in our case, five nights at VWL (2BR, rented DVC) and 2 nights at AKL concierge (may still bump up to a 1BR). I haven't started on dining yet, though we don't do too many sit downs with 4 little kids (hence the villa accomodation.)

The UnOfficial Guide actually has that week mostly at a "5", being the week after President's and the week before most Spring breaks.

We are going at the end of February and I started planning last March right after I got back. But that spur of the moment thing may be enjoyable to some. (not us obsessive planners of course). Although I have to say I am thrilled that I bought airfare several months ago at $128 per person because the exact same flight is now $744 per person! That could be a problem for them as it seems airfare is at a premium that week. The cheapest I could find for my mom who is thinking about going with us for that week was $350-400.

Are they also in NH? We're driving from Pittsburgh (16 hours) and have done it twice from Maine (23 hrs), but we chose to rather than put two autistic kids on an airplane.

Are all the SW flights out of Manchester booked that week?

I checked a little for airfare (even though there are no exact dates decided) and the best I found is $258. -- Unless of course they want 2 layovers and to get there at 11 o'clock at night. -- And then too, they want a direct flight and the only airline that flies direct Cleveland to Orlando is Continental.
(which is SO annoying! )

My sister's SIL is a nurse so I checked the Swan & Dolphin for their Nurses' rates during the end of Feb and the rates I got back were $252 a night. Plus they have five people so that let's out the Values - unless they get two rooms. I was actually thinking maybe of checking out some of the DTD hotels for them, but I'm pretty sure this is going to be their one and only trip to Disney so it'd be nice if they could stay on property.

Hew, Haw a little bit when talking to the CM-if you stall and pause a few times, the CM sometimes will give you an upgrade to a moderate for the price of a Perferred Value.

This happened to me 2 weeks before Easter, when I tried to make reservations at a Value with perferred room rates. I had my pick of PORS or Coronado.
