Anyone use these? I would like to know how they are if so. I love the thought of them but not sure how effective at stopping leaks they are. I am due Oct 22 and we are going to Disney in Dec and I thought these would be good to bring. Any help is much appreciated.

I use them - for various reasons.
They were my first try at a non-disposable diaper and I really liked the environmental part- so then I moved on to mostly cloth. But I still use the G's both with cloth inserts and disposable. I tend to use the disposable insert while traveling and at places like theme parks- just used them 3 weeks ago at Hershey Park. I think they're easy to use and if just the plastic liner gets dirty- very easy to clean and even the whole pant can be washed in the sink in a hotel and dry the next morning.

Hope that helps-

We switched to cloth in December and I spent many, many hours researching different diaper types. There's a few other diapers in the same class as the G Diapers: the Flip System and the GroVia. We have a few of the Flip, and I think they are fantastic. The GroVia (used to be called GroBaby) also looks interesting. I read that the G diaper covers weren't the best for fit, which is why we went with the Flip.

(All 3 have disposible inserts)

Thanks for the replies. With my other 2 children I used pampers but I might give this type of diaper a try. I have will continue my research on these. Thanks again.

Have you considered trying cloth diapers? I researched forever and eventually went with cloth. I was worried about flushing the inserts and they are super expensive.

Well this whole idea of going with these types of diapers really just came on my mind this week. I was looking at babies-r-us's web site and saw the Gdiapers. I do not know which way I will go but was just looking for some feedback as to if these types of diapers where effective with leaks and such and what moms/dads thought of them. I have 2 other kids and with them I just used pampers. I have awhile to decide. Thanks for the suggestion of just cloth diapers.

I used them with DD and it was a gateway diaper. I loved them, but the inserts were expensive so I tried the plain gerber cloth diapers and realized that my daughter wasn't allergic to cloth, unlike I don't know how many brands of other diapers. If you want to try out diapers, try to research trial packs, I got a 2 pack gdipe for $8 at a local health food store. Then I got a couple cloth diapers at $5 each from an outlet store.

If you wanted to make the leap, but were afraid or grossed out by the thought of full cloth, research rice liners. They helped me get used to dealing with the poo, and helped making cleaning the diapers easier for me. www.diaperswappers.com is a great website to help learn more about the diapers too. If you have anymore questions or want to know more about the different types or brands of diapers you can pm me.

I have no experience with the gidiapers yet (besides washing the gcloth inserts over and over and over - you're supposed to wash them 6 times before using!) as I'm not due until August, but I did decide to try them out as my primary diaper system.

A couple weeks ago diapers.com had the 6 pack of the covers and a case of the disposable inserts for $100. I picked that up, along with 24 of the gcloth inserts (for $100 total). The bundle sale is no longer on, but gdiapers.com still has the 6 pack of covers (in orange and vanilla bean) for $70, which is a good price from what I've seen. All the diapers (covers/disposable inserts/gcloth) that I bought were in the small size, so I figure I can re-evaluate once my little one outgrows them, since I'll have to buy bigger diapers at that point anyway.

Anyway, I'm hoping it works out because I like the option to use disposable inserts when traveling or when I'm out for a long time. Also, the disposable inserts are available through Amazon with Subscribe and Save, which should also save me money and make it easy to just have them show up at the house when I need more.

Crossing my fingers!
