I know sales will start on March 25th, but will it be for everybody or just for DVCers?

Thanks

I think its for both DVC members and the public.

Yep..everyone on the 26th..which means my pre-emptive strike of buying OKW resale was for naught :)

I'm sure you'll be fine and I've heard OKW is a nice place and has the biggest rooms! And, you can fly nonstop to MCO from ABQ on SW in a little over 3 hours! (My sister lives in Taos :) )

Thanks so much for your answers!!!!

Hope to find the points I need

Looking forward to it! (3 1/2 hours to ABQ, 1 1/2 to El Paso, but non stop is better!

I got home today and my guide had left a message telling me that points for GCV are now available for purchase and with a 100 point purchase you get a free 3 day cruise with an oceanview room or something like that as an incentive.

Is this for current DVC members? I have not heard of this before!

I also had a call from my guide this week. She sent me links to info about the upcoming selling.

Here's one bit of info I did not find on the links. Starting at the beginning of December or end of November, DVC members will not be able to say in the GC Hotel on points as they can today. They can stay in the GCV's (assuming they can get in), but not the hotel. They will still be able to stay at the Disneyland Hotel and Paradise pier though.

I imagine this is a compelling reason to actually purchase GCV points if you like staying there.

I'm a current member. I had called my guide almost a year ago and said we might be interested when GCV went on sale so he said that he flagged our account and called today. But my wife now says its a no go on doing an add-on.

My guide called me a couple days ago to make sure he had everything finalized..but he said it was so the sale would officially happen on March 26..has this changed? Did your guide say you could actually purchase the points right now or was this to get all the ducks in a row?

He said that points were available to purchase....nothing about ducks. ;)

But seriously, that was all he said was that points were available to purchase- no dates were mentioned- and that I should call him if I had any questions about pricing and also that he would be working all weekend.

This is consistent with the hotels at WDW with a DVC addition (Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk, etc & soon to be the Contemporary too)

I was just at WDW at the beginning of this week and sat down with my guide at the sales center at SSR to discuss VGC further. She definitely said that the sale won't start until the 26th for non-founders - so be sure to check with your guide...if you can do it, great, I need to call her back. If not, then she has all of the information ready for us to process asap on the 26th.

I just talked to my guide today, and he indicated that guides can now take all the info, and lock in the current promotions for non-founding members, but that the sale won't actually take place until the 26th. He also said that although GCV sales are going pretty well, he expects that it will take more than a few months for it to sell out (I was asking specifically whether there would be points available in May, my next planned Disneyland vacation).

That's exactly what my guide did, you just verbalized it better than I did. She basically pulled out the purchase proposal document I think she called it, and filled it out right there in front of me, and then put a post-it type flag on it to hold until the 26th. Yes, my guide was telling me how much they are all crossing their fingers that they'll be busy on the 26th, but her expectation was that it wouldn't sell out immediately.

That is the same thing that they did for the Founder's Group and Bay Lake Towers. Soon you too will have points on your DVC account at your new home resort, "null." :rotfl:

I spoke to my guide today about 12:30 PM EST and she said she could take an "e-proposal" (read from an e-mail) from me. Naturally I did it on the spot!!! :goodvibes She has my credit card deposit info. and my purchase plan. Contract will go in on the 26th or 27th and my card will be charged then. (I elected pay the balance after I get the paperwork see she listed it as "checK".) I'm still only doing my planned 40 point add-on (See $112 per, no incentives); I can pay 'cash' for that and don't have the $$$$ for any more than that right now. Dues are to start on the day the resort opens, currently planned for Nov. 31st 2009.

It will get me 4 nights in a studio every 3 years (except premiere) and that is all I need; we mostly go to WDW.

Currently on :cloud9:

Yeah, I started at BLT so this will be my first add-on - I'll have two nulls! My current contract still says null. Anyone else actually have that populated (filled in as BLT) yet?
