GCV reservation luck

Success! Just booked a 1 BR for 2 nights 6/6/10
CM did mention that many people were booking for that week. I was going to call tomorrow and check in on the 7th, but changed my mind, deciding that driving from San Diego to LA would be easier on a Sun afternoon after my conference ends than on a Mon morning - hope I am right. Anyway, didn't even call until after lunch and got what I needed.
Excellent MS service - delightful and informative CM - she did confirm that all villas views are either theme park or pool - either is fine for me, so I requested dedicated and upper floor. Can't wait to stay at GCV! Now just crossing my fingers that my DS will be able to join me - if not I'll have to head up to his campus after DL. Good luck everyone.

We just stayed there last week and it was BEAUTIFUL! Get ready to have your breath taken away.

We had a studio with a pool view. I didn't request a view, just left it to fate. We ended up with a lovely view.

The bathroom has a pocket door, which was very space saving!

FYI, the beds are HEAVENLY!!

I called this morning at our 7mo mark and was able to get a studio for 6/8 to 6/12- yeah!

Thanks for posting the pictures of your studio- this will be our first trip to DL, so now I need to start reading up

I was able to modify my VGC studio reservation for May this morning without any issues. I was able to add a couple of days prior to it (and remove some at the end) without a problem.

I get to make our GCV reservation in 10 days (7 month mark) and am wondering how lucky people have been in getting their reservation? We are hoping for a 2 bedroom June 13-18. I wonder what villa size fills up the fastest?

I did. I even started a thread about it. Got my 2 bedroom lock-off with a DCA requested view. They only have DCA and pool views so either way, I win!!!

I don't think you will have an issue at all. I have yet to read anything about anyone not getting their GCV ressie at 7 mos. out. Are we going to overlap at all?

Unfortunately, no. We hope to arrive on 6/20. Trying to convert my muggle husband - he has not even stayed at the GCH (only DLH) so this will be a big change!

I was able to call at my 7 month window and book for three nights in a 1 bedroom for Jun 13-16th. 40th bday....whoo hoo

I called this morning for 6/20 - 6/24 and am waitlisted! The first two nights are sold out in all catagories. I will call back on 11/22 to see if I can at least get the last two nights. The CM seems to think that I should clear the waitlist this early.

I had to modify my res today - switched from 1 BR to studio (DS will be taking finals that week, so no way he can join me). They had a studio for Sun and Mon nights, but I had to waitlist for the night I was adding, Tues (6/8). Actually, (extremely pleasant and informative) CM suggested I book the 1 BR for Tues that was available and waitlist for the studio. It's all good either way, but I will be happy to save the points since I don't need the extra room. If I have to switch rooms I'll just leave my bags as I head to the park and move when I get back - at least if I have to use the extra points, I'll be able to do my laundry in the room (while soaking in the jacuzzi) before checking out and heading north to spend a few days with my boy

Oh shoot, we were thinking about those dates but I have just been watching airfare to see what we can get. That news is discouraging.

Well, struck out again this morning for 6/22 & 6/23 - and I was dialing exactly at 6 am pst! Ugh.... thinking about splitting my waitlist into 2 night requests.

I called on 12/24 and booked 7/14 through 7/20, 1 BR. All dates were available; I was surprised and happy. Our DD16 is attending a 10-day summer camp at UCLA, so when it ends we are going to meet her at GVC. Because she is not yet 18, she will not be able to check in without us (me and DH), and we will not be able to arrive in Anaheim until about 6 pm (flying in from Colorado). So now I think I need to change our reservation to 7/13 through 7/19. That way we'll already be there and settled into the room when she arrives at GVC late in the morning on 7/14. Wish me luck when I call MS tomorrow to see if I can get the dates changed successfully!

We thoroughly enjoyed a 6-day stay at the Disneyland Hotel in summer 2008 and are looking forward to a return visit to DLR.

Hope you are able to change your dates! We had been thinking late June but weren't able to get anything, so I think I will try for late August. Hope I can get it!
