Hi,

We are planning a trip next summer and would like to go as soon as possible after my BF's son has sat his GCSE's.
However the school are unable at the moment to provide us with any dates. From what I remember the exams are usually in May/June.....I think?!
Does anyone know about this, or know of a way of finding out exact dates- wasn't sure if contacting the exam boards would be any use?
Obviously we daren't book anything without knowing, but we want it to be a reward for his hard work so it would be good to go maybe a week after the last exam....thanks in advance...

they are usually finished by the end of june my dd is also taking hers next year. you should be ok for july. Sorry i can`t be more definate

If you find out which examination boards and subjects they are doing, then the exam boards have the exam timetable for next June up on their websites already, I believe.

www.ocr.org.uk
www.aqa.org.uk
www.edexcel.org.uk

I think that those are the three main exam boards. I think anytime after the beginning of July should be okay.

when I took my A-levels my last paper was the last paper of the whole A and O period - afternoon on 1 July.

Might I suggest going AFTER 4 July as it will be very busy then!! :teeth:

everyones last exams have different dates.

def. my june 30th - should be finished.

our lads were from end of may to mid july last year also we had to wait until next sale had been on as DW works there it was worth holding back on the holiday as he got 7 As of which 4 were stared 2 Bs and a C its not worth messing up there future for a holiday

my sons last exam was 18th june, and we flew on the 19th!!! but it will depend on what subjects he will be taking , i would say 30th June would be a safe bet

We had the same dilema last year and were told by the school that 30th June would be the last possible date for our exam boards - but other boards could have different dates. We didn't have DD's subject timetable confirmed by the school until about Easter!

In the end we were thwarted in our let's-go-as-soon-as-GCSEs-finish plans as DD had her Leavers' Ball to attend on 7th July

its not worth messing up there future for a holiday

Paulh, we're not thinking in a billion years of going when he might have an exam!- (the holiday's going to be a reward for all his hard work after the exams) that's why I want to be 100% sure before booking.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.
