I'm so excited. I have always wanted to stay at the GCH but could not bring myself to pay the full price. I just got a 40% off rate on Expedia for the month of August. I can hardly wait to go now.

:banana::woohoo:

I bet you will love it :)

Have a great time, that is where we stayed last year.

If it's room-only, you know about the Resort Fee, yes? With tax, it's $13.80 per night, payable at the hotel. (covers parking, newspaper on weekdays, access to pools and workout, internet...)

If you booked a package, the fee is rolled into the package fee.

Is this true? If I booked a Package with the 2 nights free at PPH, then I don't have to pay the resort fee when I get there?? That'd be great!

and don't forget the regular tax which was at $48.00 per night..still..worth it! Yes, packages have all that rolled into the price so they'll be no other fees.

I appreciate the post on the expedia special hotel rate, but now I have a dilemma: I have DLH booked for $3,438 U.S. dollars for 14 nights in August (crazy amount of money, but it will be the only time in my life that I ever do this, I'm sure), and expedia.ca now would cost $3,383 Canadian dollars, so not a lot of difference, but I am Canadian and one is in USD and the other is in CAD. The exchange rate is good right now, though, and is expected to remain that way into the summer or maybe even improve for the CAD, I understand. I have a USD account for which I was planning to pay for my DL trip. I could pay CAD now through Expedia or pay USD in August to DLH. I suppose these rates are the best that I will see? Unlikely that there may be a pin code or AP rate that comes in cheaper?? I'm thinking that I would have more flexibility with the DLH reservation if I need to change anything for some reason, including the possibility of a cheaper rate (?) I would really appreciate any advice from anyone on this, especially anyone who may understand exchange rates and economics and Disneyland hotel discounts better than I do!! Thanks!

And don't forget the low rates that have been posted lately for the GCH are for "hotel only" like Molly said.

Once you book Expedia you are locked in and have no control over the reservation. The dollar is supposed to hit par by summer also. My suggestion is go to the Disneyland site yourself. Make sure you click on special offers on the left hand side of the page so you will get the discounted quote and do it yourself. Book it with a deposit and pay it off on the last day possible or when you see a spike in the dollar. Easy cheesy and then you have some control over your reservation and you are getting the discounted price.:goodvibes

Drag 'n Fly: Thanks for your advice! It is the discounted price that I have from Disneyland resort right now, and since there's not much difference between that and Expedia.ca, I think I will do as you suggested and leave my reservation as is for now.
