GCH or DLH

For 3 nights it would cost is $190 more to stay at the GCL instead of the DLH. Is it worth it for this price difference? We have never stayed at either place. Thank you!

I would say yes, absolutly!!!

We love the Grand. It is so beautiful. It is closer to the parks, and you get a private entrance to DCA. If you can afford the difference, I would so go for it!

I'll hop on the bandwagon! If the difference is only $190 between the two and you have it to spend, I'd go GCH for sure!

It is worth the price difference. You are closer the the parks too.

Possibly. As said if it's easily affordable then consider it. GCH is closer, I consider this to be the biggest perk. If you are taking kids it's a little more subdued, while DLH is more fantastic. How old are those kids, which would they like more?

Still for that price maybe this is your chance to give yourself something special.

For me it would not be worth it. BUT I personally prefer the DLH over the GCH, so maybe I am biased.

ETA: I just saw the ages of your kids on your siggy...I would do the DLH with them...it is MUCH more Disney themed. I have not stayed in the new rooms yet, but my kids loved the old rooms and thje tinkerbell glow boarder. My son was amazed at the map of DL on the TV stand. My kids are the same ages as your kids.

I like both. I like the Grand better. It is closer to DL, it is right in DCA, the pool area is much more comfortable, and the whole experience is luxurious.

It depends on what you would give up for the extra 180, though.

The kids can have bunk beds which they'll be happier with than sharing a bed.

GC! We changed over today from the Camelot Inn - who cares that I'll be sharing my bed with my 8 year old, when I'm staying at the best hotel on site!

Thank you everyone! Did a bit more research. To be able to get a newly remodeled room at DLH it will cost about the same as a basic room in the Grand. I think the kids would LOVE the newly remodeled DLH room. Hard to decide!

I switched from DLH to GCH today with the hotel discount that came out for January. I'm saving $100 from what I was paying for DLH and getting GCH instead! Yay!

I don't think you can go wrong either way. It sort of depends on what you're looking for.

I stayed at the GCH with my mom and loved it. It was perfect for us- a bit of luxury, minimal walking to the park (so she could go back and rest while I did screamin over and over and over...), Napa Rose downstairs, and piano music in the lovely lobby.

I did DLH with a small child and loved it. Disney stuff everywhere, great renovated room, fun headboard, and Goofy in the lobby. Plus, she loved taking the monorail.

Both hotels are great, but for totally different reasons. When are you going? That might affect the pool situation at DLH...

I haven't seen anyone mention the room size issue yet, i.e., the room at the DLH is bigger than the rooms at the Grand.
